Cam Clear Arrested (merged)

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then, right?

I got the impression it wasn't just football players involved in this. Parents of kids who aren't football players probably don't give a damn about football players. Especially if their kids aren't getting a free ride.

Generally speaking, parents of crime victims probably don't care much for the perpetrators.

If he stole from his team mates, I don't see how you could try to sweep this under the rug. It would be really hard to regain the trust by his team again.

Hmmm....normally it's a good thing if your TE has sticky fingers.....in this instance.....not so much

Good one. Well, not a good situation, but a fairly clever response nonetheless. Might as well laugh a little.

it's like one of the Maxims

IF all of this about a parent changing their mind last minute is true...am I the only one impressed that Dooley ALMOST was able to keep a lid on this?

He seems to be learning from the giant PR cluster you-know-what that has defined his tenure up to now.

I'm encouraged!

Datgum, I just don't get it. Your playing college football at the highest level and with a bright future and your running around getting five finger discounts.... W. T. F.!!!!!!!

Anyone remember Rogers tweeting that someone had stolen his laptop a few weeks back? I wonder if there is a connection.

Nor should they.

Again, parents cannot press charges. They can pressure the victim to pursue charges. The victim or victims's are adults so they will have to sign the warrant.

They can if the property (laptops, phone, etc.) is in their name.

Yeah, I defended Cam in the other thread. Initially, there was pretty strong evidence that he wasn't involved after the initial rumors. Again, several thefts occurred during spring practices. The investigation evolved from there. It's still not clear exactly how he was involved, but somehow he ended up with some of the property, and a parent was not satisfied with the "internal solution" to the situation.

I do not expect him to be dismissed, but anything is possible.

Some people do it for the thrill as sad as that sounds. I had teammate in high school who had everything. Never broke , never did without. Loved to steal stuff. Not because he actually wanted it. Just to see if he could get away with it. He eventually got caught and the only people shocked were his parents.

Indeed. Would have explosive consequences, unfortunately. A team is a brotherhood. IF-IF the stolen property was that of a team member, the betrayal of that brotherhood would probably be near impossible to fully heal. Again if true, everytime something went missing right or not, he would probably receive some suspicious looks.

Deerpark didn't say anything other than "when the parents got to town". How does that make it a second incident?

To be arrested for possession of stolen property, he would have still have had to had stolen property in his posession, if everything was cleared up earlier, and he gave the property back, how could they charge him then for possession?

It's the perfect example of the old "you can take the boy out of the country, but you can't the country out of the boy"
