I would be completely against deploying troops against citizens unless they were attempting to overthrow duly elected government......... I'm fine with them defending federal property in a purely defensive capacity.

There has been a state-secession movement from NorCal for years. Just let SoCal go. Let NorCal remain and break into a couple of states. West Coast US preserved.
