California Lunacy Thread

It's 99.8% about revenue so it's a big piece of "partly"

It means they all don't have to be viewed as revenue producing for the state. If a cop wants to pull you over they will do it. This has nothing to do with social justice and all about an oppressive govt finding itself thru fines and theft

You have a very child-like view of police and govt. Well if they pulled someone over they must have a good reason 🤣

I guess when you “work” from home you don’t have to worry about getting pulled over. 🤣😂

I think there is a Scandinavian country which charges a percentage of income or net worth for tickets/fines from police. Would you support a system like that in America?
I wouldn't be happy about my income or net worth being public record. Apart from that it's a fairer setup than flat rate fines.

Yeah. I assume the fine must be based on tax records in Norway or wherever.

Do you think, like hog, the change would incentives tickets to owners of more expensive vehicles?

If the goal is revenue wouldn't they already be doing that? Why would it change at the street level?

Probably by a little. There's still incentive to pull over and ticket shabbier cars too, just like now, for additional charges that may arise.

no idea. but i don't understand your conclusion... if the fine is $150 why would they target expensive cars?? A Rolls Royce owner pays the same as a Kia owner.
This only works if they're directed to target instead of just write as many as possible. If that were true then it would be illegal.

How many kias on the road for every rr? It's always going to be about quantity and the numbers make it so the lower classes will be more affected as there are more. They're also better targets since they're more likely to be late, miss dates, etc. Even with a scaled fine you're simply never going to fund a city on RR drivers

Really running that clever quip into the ground. Sorry Danny, you aren't able to dig ditches remotely

Lol. From somebody that’s only stance on anything is literally b!tching and crying about everything. You go from it’s ok to fine people varying amounts based on income to crying about all traffic laws are just to generate revenue and even tossed in some other random bs. If that’s the case why not just fine everyone as much as possible?

How is it possible you miss the point on every post? You're a broken clock missing a hand

I want the last amount of money stolen from citizens by govt. You're the opposite and are taking the side of big govt.

Yes...right up until the time that all the wealthy residents move out of the state/jurisdiction.

Which is good if you're okay with local governments getting your income information. Why have the same offense break a poor person and be a trifle to a rich one?

If you're poor, you can't afford to be an ******* and break the law, so DON'T.

Who the hell cares? If you know committing an offense will break you why take a chance by breaking the law?

Cop- “We ran your plates and notice you paid a lot in taxes last year. We pulled you over for a busted taillight.”

Driver- “ I don’t have a busted taillight”.

Cop- “You do now”.

You can't possibly be surprised by that. I'm sure there are probably at least about 10-15 more leftists on here that would agree with him.
Oh I have no doubt, but good grief. We are gonna start basing fines and penalties on what you are worth??? Just when you think the left can't come up with something more idiotic than the last thing.....

California seems to be determined to force everyone that isn't illegal and/or destitute to flee the state.

It’s ok. They’ll make up the difference by shaking down the actual contributors of society in other ways to make up the tax difference….At least while they can.
