It didn't say he was ever offered the job. In fact it doesn't even sat that UT contacted him at all.

Relax. I am sure they'll let us know when a new coach is hired. Then you can start bashing him.

Why wouldn't Jim Leavitt, the former SF coach. He was fired for no reason and did wonders for a new program.
I am confused and getting concerned. I know it has been two days but dang!

Muschamp says no, Calhoun declines. Maybe it is time to realize that UT isnt the job it once was. Its a harsh reality. These coaches dont think its worth it and I am beginning to wonder if its not worth my time either.

It's just not the job it once was. We offer amazing facilities still, good money, and a wonderful fan base.

The recruiting is difficult, and always has been to an extent.

But the main difference now than is that you're not going up against just Steve Spurrier and the also-rans like Jim Donnan anymore. Guys like Spurrier and Richt are almost afterthoughts now compared to Meyer and Saban. Overall, the league is much better, which in turn makes recruiting that much harder.

To an extent, I think its harder than an NFL job, mainly because of the expectations versus the recruiting difficulties.

I am disappointed that Calhoun will apparently not be the head man.....I think he has alot to offer and would do a great job.

He would have tried to disban the VOL NAVY anyway, and the VOL Air force Would not have been as much fun.

I hate to say it but it looks like we will be just another UK, UARK, MSU, UM for the next few years.

Dude. This is Tennessee. We will never by Ark/Uk or any of the others. We can win. We will win. True, this is a circus right now, but come signing day, we will have 25 or so good commits that are going to be better than the bottom half of the SEC at least. We will field a team in Sept next year. We may not win the East, but who the hell will?
We'll be fine. We always will.

UT will never be like UK. UT has the tradition that in its self will bring in some of the top kids in the east. Kentucky has to fight to get the top kids in their own state. And as long as basketball is played at Kentucky the football team will be treated like a step-child, an ugly step-child.
