This could give the SEC some flexibility in making a decision. They could allow Cade to play due to special circumstances, yet require him to burn a year of eligibility also due to special circumstances.

A bit off topic, but I think if he plays, he is gone after this year. If he doesn’t he probably plays another year. That may end up being the better scenario for Tennessee.

I doubt that Georgia has any actual responsibility for Kevin Mays not being able to properly stand up from a folding chair, that's most likely due to decades of poor dietary and exercise choices.

Besides, Kevin Mays lost his finger tip in 2017, before Cade had even enrolled, and it didn't stop him from enrolling.

If that is Cade's core reasoning for transfering, going to be a pretty hard sell for the SEC to reverse course on established precedent, and basically open the door for inter-SEC transfers without sitting a year.

Well, it is going to court to determine GA's responsibility in the incident. If rumors are true about pressure being put on Cade about that, the SEC will have to decide whether they want to protect GA or their rule not allowing transfers within the conference.

In 3 months it’s goin to be a one time transfer without penalty anyways so that theory of yours is gone. But please tell us all how the sky is falling ... again

Eh, I can see the GA, furniture rental company, and chair manufacturer lawyers all arguing that Mays only filed the lawsuit to give his son a better chance of getting a transfer, given that he filed it 3 days before Pittman was announced as the Arkansas head coach.

Regardless, I still don't think the university is responsible for Kevin Mays being incapable of not harming himself when using a folding chair.

I haven't seen any statement from the SEC office saying that a one time intra-conference transfer was going to be allowed.

Care to provide a link?

Millions of dollars have been awarded to people that I thought a little common sense would have protected them from harm. Regardless of who is responsible or why he filed when he did, this is something the SEC has not had to deal with before and may not ever again.

I am not convinced there are as many frivolous lawsuits as the insurance companies and doctors would like you to believe.

I think the exact opposite, if all you gotta do to get a kid transferred is a lawsuit. Then hell they will keep coming.

Maybe. Or maybe the NCAA will make the one time transfer possible and solve most of their problems.

That's a NCAA rule not a SEC conference rule... Big difference. Think of it like this, NCAA I'd the federal government and the SEC is say california, washington and colorado. Federal law states weed is illegal. In Cali, washington and colorado it's legal.
