Whoever thinks this game will be within 14 points is smoking crack.
Anyone who thought Jon Gruden was gonna be our coach must be smoking it as well....the way this teams plays it is not a shock to anyone that any team on our schedule can stay within 14 points of us except GSU and Chatty.

Having lived near southeast Idaho and Utah I can confirm Mormon women are hot. The highest concentration of beautiful women I have ever seen was at a concert at the Delta center.

Hope you have fun at the game but your team loses, badly.
You have lived so many places, learn something new everyday. Still in Miami?

Howdy. Our best position groups are WR and CB. If it turns into a battle on the edges, I like our chances. If you can't run on us, you'll probably be working the middle with a 3, TE, releasing RB. Most reasonable Vols know this is not going to be a walkover.

At the conclusion of spring, we knew we had an OL, but we were sitting on only our leading rusher returning at RB in Lopini Katoa. The other three contributors in 2018 graduated and we lost out on every HS RB recruit we pursued. Things were looking extremely dicey.

We then picked up a couple grad transfers. First a kid from Rice who will at least provide a warm body in the team room, but shouldn’t set the world on fire in the games.

The player BYU fans are excited about, particularly as reports from camp scrimmages have leaked, is Ty’Son Williams, transfer from South Carolina. He sees this as a one year “free agent” season to show the NFL what he can do. He and Katoa are the two who have separated themselves.

We will win some battles in the run game. How many, of course, is the question. 150 rush yards in the stat we track. Hit that and the resulting offensive balance leads us to win like 90% of the time.

I see some of the information about BYU's planned tailgate and the rush of BYU fans has been making a few ripples among the more sensitive members of your fanbase. Full disclosure, the primary reason BYU went independent was to access its nationwide fanbase. Mormons are hot and we still breed like the Catholics did in the 50s -- one wife at a time, mind you -- and we love turning out in the well-known or not-so-well-known venues of college football. The alumni chapters are anxious to create the full experience for BYU fans travelling from around the country (the T-shirt thing has been done everywhere I've gone). Neyland is our road mecca in 2019 so all BYU fans circled it on our calendars when the series was announced. We'll show up. We'll spend some money. And we won't drink your beer.

As for the game, the further away from the ball at the snap you get, the weaker BYU is. Our OL and DL will be the strength of the team. We've had strong units in the trenches in the past -- those two year missions make for some big boys -- but these might be the best we have ever had.

If Tennessee is hurting on the lines like it sounds, we'll see if speed on the edges or dominance at the line is what wins football games. Not here to convince you your team sucks or to preach the restored Gospel, but looking forward to talking some football as we wait out the next couple weeks.
These experiences always make the cross-country trip a lot of fun. Hope the BYU fans in attendance enjoy the trip, and hopefully, Vol fans are good to you.

Sounds like our team's weaknesses have their work cut out for them. Im less concerned about UT's OL holding on as I am the DL.

I agree I think it will be a culture shock to them as well , maybe even more of a reason to checker neyland . They will never be the same again !!

I don't think so based on my direct past experience with them. You'd be shocked at how many Mormons work in Las Vegas casinos in various capacities. And how many LDS visitors there "sneak" play the slots. Many aren't strangers to vice-loving whether doing it as individuals or witnessing it in others. Like any religious group, they have hypocrites too. However, I knew many who were genuinely good folks with good hearts. But then I could say the same about Baptists, Methodists, Buddhists, and folks of various other religious orders I've encountered. So, I'd say VFL'ers set your stereotypical views aside and just go with the flow. Presume nothing but let them reveal who and what they are but don't judge, strive instead to be friends.

Like over 100,000 at Texas in 2014? Like over 85,000 at Nebraska in 2015? Like two NFL stadium games in 2016? Like 80,000 at Wisconsin in 2018?

Big venues might scare other non-conference teams, but not BYU. We play anywhere and win our fair share. Gonna be the 11 between the lines and not the 100,000 outside them that will have any impact.

Many fans have made similar statements...… until you see the vols run through the checkerboard...… then you will know what we are talking about..... our team for the last 10-15 years has underperformed.... and we are still one of the loudest venues in the country.... yea louder than Nebraska, Wisky, and Texas...… none of those teams are in the SEC. Good luck to BYU, I hope no injuries for either side.

The only.culture shock will be seeing trees and mountains without snow on them

When I say culture shock . Im talking about watching a football game atmosphere inside neyland . I understand they play some power 5 teams . But they haven't in the south . Because as you know I'm the SEC . It just means more . and when neyland is checkered it is truly an amazing scene.

Just talk football already. Tennessee has the advantage in edge speed. We have one four-year starter at CB (was at S last year but CB in 2016 and 2017) in Dayan Ghanwoluku, but the other will be a new starter given our lockdown guy, Chris Wilcox, still hasn't recovered from a blown knee in the Boise State game last year. With UT's strength at WR, one of BYU's CBs (Isaiah Herron) will definitely need help and the other guy (Ghanwoluku) can't stay on an island all game. If Guarantano has time, there will be throws to be made. If he has a running game as well, it won't be pretty for BYU.

You are rebuilding an OL and your best player on the unit (Trey Smith) is on bloodthinners and only getting mental reps. As an aside, I'm glad doctors caught the issue and are treating him. Blood clots are no joke. This plays into the strength of BYU's defense. Even Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor and two OL all-americans (1 consensus) with 147 total combined starts on the OL was held to his second lowest per carry average in a season where he won the Doak Walker. If there isn't a run game, and if Guarantano doesn't have time, now we have a game. Short, three-step, quick developing throws are going to be better for UT than insisting on pushing BYU around.
