Off topic but I got a signed Bucs card from you when I was working in Clarksville. We did some work for you on a project a few years back. I wasn't in the office the day you come by but my brother made sure he got me a sig.

Ive always thought the only chance of Butch leaving would be Oregon (could see them having some interest) with Wilcox as DC, or if Colorado , Cal, or Cincy open or another surprise.

In addition, the best defenses are built from the inside out. Today they want to be multiple, meaning they want to be able to be a 4-3 front and a 3-4 front while running different stuff (nickel) in the back end...but you have to take away running between the tackles...Think, Suh, Haynesworth, etc...

We lost O'Brien, that was huge in terms of being multiple and the losses of Tuttle and Mckenzie as well as the MLB and Safety...that is very difficult to overcome and it forces everyone to try to overcompensate and the trust in knowing where everyone is s'posed to be gets lost...that's probably being over simplistic, but to me the last couple of games, defensively, that's what it looked like.

Barnett was getting his, Vereen was getting his...but we were weak in the one place you can't be weak. The middle of the field.

I think Bryan Randolph was much better than we realized. Losing him also has hurt at least a little imo.

Go to Oregon as head coach or special teams coach/cliche motivator? One is believable.

I get it and I think Shoop is the real thing but the backups although less talented played basically the whole year and were still out of position and fundamentally lacking at the end of the year. Either they or the coaches were mailing it in.

If you watched the bama game it told is everything. We had no linebacker depth, and lack of gameplay experience. When your out of position that is due to no gameday experience almos 85 percent of the time. You can't have your defensive tackles the size of defensive ends.

Always good to see local guys do well. I run across Hassell in the youth basketball circuit from time to time.

I don't see it like that because there are times when they absolutely make awesome plays. They were inconsistent at times. I think it was mainly because of having to play so many inexperienced players. Kongbo for example playing DT.

Can you imagine the S*** we would get if we lost a coach to Purdue. Even if hes pushed out, if he isn't fired then it'll make us look bad. Plus this isn't a good year to get a new coach LSU had to settle for coach O for goodness sake.

And we should still be good enough to finish higher than 109. Never mind they closed with arguably their 3 worst performances including against an offensively challenged Vandy squad.

I would imagine chip kelly would retu
rn to Oregon.....but if he didn't, everyone needs to unload their savings and hand it to him to come here if butch were to leave. Shoop and him would be quite fun. Again tho, I think if butch cleans out his defensive assistants and brings in shoops, and brings on clausen as a qb/OC assistant, we would have a championship caliber staff. We would just need an oline coach.
