Buzz Peterson 10-7 @ Coastal Carolina

My issue with Buzz was always more a matter of not being able to make players improve over time. C.J. Watson is a perfect example: pretty good as a freshman, not any better his sophomore or junior years, and then lights out as a senior under 1 year of Pearl.

By hook or by crook, he got Lofton here, without whom this team would be NIT bound all the way.

With good coaching, Herndon (who went on to be a pretty good center at Belmont), Winchester and Hendrix (in particular) could have been very productive players for U.T. Not all-SEC caliber by any means, granted.

Did you know Buzz Peterson was Michael Jordan's roommate?

Have you seen Buzz's business card?

Slamming a guy after he has been gone for 2 years is about as class-less as a fan can get. He is a great guy who worked his butt off for our university, but just could not get the job done. Some coaches are great small college coaches, but not large college coaches. He will do fine where he is now...taking pot shots at a guy trying to get back on the coaching track is pretty crappy. I would expect that from Bama fans, but not Vol fans.

Pathetic.
who is slamming him? He was a nice guy but a bad coach. :dunno:

Jamere Hendrix would not have been a productive player in the Sun Belt, let alone the SEC. There is a reason he never got off the bench at Clemson. Winchester and Herndon were low major talents, nothing more.
