This happened once and will only ever happen once. Kiffin left simply because...
1. He's a douche bag.
2. USC is where he wanted to always be. It was a mix of both. No other coach would leave Tennessee, unless they meet those two. Butch, he doesn't really have a dream school as far as I know. He doesn't really have ties to another elite program. And Michigan? He didn't go to Michigan, and I don't think he's ever coached there, so no. Butch won't build the program to just leave, especially when TN is on top, there isn't a any programs that outclass it. It's top 10.
Butch had 60 days to sign his first class.
No one in their right mind could construe that 2013 was his first year.
Butch Jones is in his 2nd year here at Tennessee.
Let's be fair.
Next year is year 3.
Assuming year 3 goes well it also will bring a big question with. How long before he leaves? I for one don't believe he would be inclined to go anywhere but I can see the media putting out rumor after rumor of him talking to other schools. While it will be annoying it will also be worth the headache once he starts winning.
I truly hope this is Butch's year. However, I also fear that he would leave if he was able to bring Tenn back to success...Does he have a "dream job" out there waiting to throw money at him when he shows what he can do?
He does have a history of leaving after successful year 3s.
A lot of you also said Kiffin wasn't going anywhere...we saw how that worked out.

I would argue that Tennessee has fallen from the "Destination Job" category. He is working to bring it back.
You would? Then what's the argument? I think the work he's put in, as I stated earlier, has brought it back to a "destination job" already...

What? This is his third season no matter how you slice it. 2013, 2014, and now 2015. He did have a short time to finish up and sign his first class and he did a nice job....signed Dobbs, North and held onto JRM just to name 3 impact players.
But make no mistake, that was year one....when he signed that class, began changing the culture, began laying the foundation. He's had 3 signing classes, 3 offseasons, 3 spring practices, is conducting his 3rd fall camp....its year 3. He now needs to produce wins to go along the other great things he's "produced" in the program.
Calm down sparky.
Finish up? He didn't even get a chance to get started.
60 days is just 16% of a recruiting cycle. Call it what you want but those who have been around a while understand.
Next year is year 3...period.
Dooley understands "year zero." Luckily we now have a coach that wouldn't use such an excuse. Players started buying into and learning his system that first year. The class of '13 includes Dobbs, Sutton, North, JRM, Smith, and Vereen. Their contributions are real. This is year 2.16 no matter how people want to spin it.
The time period for coaches doing that is over. Coaches (especially under 60) are all mercenaries looking for new opportunities. Never think otherwise.
