I called no names. No need to, check nearly any thread and you'll see people calling out others for having negative feelings about this administration/ coach. It wasn't specifically in reference to you, just the pervasive avoidance of "live and let live" around here. We have a number of layman psychoanalysts who feel the need to label and diagnose anyone who disagrees with conventional sentiment.
Would you classify this post as live and let live? Would you say calling someon a laymen psychoanalyst is labeling them?I called no names. The avoidance of "Live and let live" around these parts because some of us take your public comments, parse them, and post about them, huh? That's rich, considering the number of people who take a "live and go for the throat" attitude about every conceivable public nugget they can get with the staff, or anyone who offers a not-quite-so-hateful interpretation of said nuggets.
But, you keep doing you. Ya'll keep doing ya'll. I'll keep doing me and we'll keep doing us on Freak's free Tennessee Football discussion forum, eh?
By taking years of goodwill, buy-in, financial support and, yes, loyalty for granted and then hiring coaches that are not proportionate in caliber to the program's storied history, the fanbase's enthusiasm, fanbase's size, and fanbase's will to win. By selling out the legacies of Neyland, Majors, Fulmer, Manning, and Wilson to shams like Butch and Dooley.
That doesnt make any sense. Maybe you missed the point.
It was labeling. Lol. But no, it doesnt matter. It only matters when were talking about the folks your earlier post was direct at, I suppose.Sure it does. You asked if calling someone a layman psychoanalyst was "labeling" them. I responded by suggesting it is, but only if they are ACTUALLY a board certified mental health professional. (Because if they were TRULY a psychiatrist I would be "labeling" them incorrectly.)
This doesn't really matter. I'm just Nega'...what do I know?

Context Freak....my response is what does not matter. The die is cast, the lines are drawn. This board is as divided as the fanbase, and there is no room for dissent. All I did was take up for a guy that was told he needed to step away from being a fan because he was bothered by the state of the program. He was borderline accused of narcissism because of it. My only point was that it seemed that some people were more concerned with his state of mind than he was the program. I found it a little ironic.
Sorry. Not sorry. My feelings aren't hurt, and I'm certainly not sensitive.
Anybody else?

Unfortunately, no coach wanted the tremendous job of of completely rebuilding Tennessee from the bottom of the SEC.......other than Butch Jones.....therein lies the problem

It's a great job, but I don't it carries quite the weight nationally that fans think it does.
Id go along with top 15. I think many would argue higher. Maybe Im wrong.Top 10-15 easily. History, facilities, fan support, tradition, conference, National prominence.
The administration hurt us in the first couple of hires after Fulmer...by that I mean Cheek. After the Kiffin and Dooley go-around the damage was done to our National perception. It made the last hire difficult, for sure. But I think we were undersold.
