not sure what you're driving at here. make your point, let's stop with all the cloak and dagger....
what are you wanting to get at already?
Not a difficult concept. We're paying the guy over 4 million now for an 8 win season. What does he get for a 12 win season? How many coaches get a one million dollar raise in three years for going 5-7, 7-6, and 8-4? My question is what's he going to ask for if he goes 12-0? 6 million? 7 million?

Currently out of 14 coaches where would you put him? He's ahead of Stoops and Mason. So where should his salary be? That's what I'm asking. Seems a little high for what he has accomplished. And, if it is this high for accomplishing very little how high does it go if he goes 12-0. Higher than Saban's who's won 4 NC's. Butch's hype seems to have garnered him a higher salary than he deserves it appears to me.
there's a whole thread dedicated to this topic.
and if you think he got the raise this year FOR going 8-4, then you're not paying attention to the big picture.

1. you think he makes too much money.
2. you want to know what we think he should make.
3. you have no other criteria for salary excep w/l record.
you need to go read the thread on this topic.

The problem with what Jones said is you dont get six or seven years to build a program at a school that has tasted success.
So this applies to nobody else but Butch? He should be the only coach to get that much time because of what? Is it because he is so good he managed to lose to Dooley head to head, or because he managed to blow 3 games that were already won this year?
Tell that to Floridas Jim McElwain, who won the SEC East in his first year. Tell that to Auburns Gus Malzahn, who won the SEC and played for the national championship in his first year. Tell that to Nick Saban, who won the SEC in his second year at LSU and the national title in his third year at Alabama. Tell that to Auburns Gene Chizik, who won a national championship in his second year. Tell that to Urban Meyer, who won a national title in his second year at Florida and in his third year Ohio State. Tell that to Georgias Mark Richt, who won the SEC in his second year, when he had his only one-loss team in Athens. Tell that to Ole Miss Hugh Freeze, who had the Rebels ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation in his third and fourth seasons. Tell that to James Franklin, who won nine games in his second and third seasons at Vanderbilt after the Commodores had 28 consecutive seasons with at least six losses. Tell that to Bobby Petrino, who won 10 and 11 games in his third and fourth seasons at Arkansas. Tell that to Steve Spurrier, who had the best record in the SEC in his first year at Florida (1990) after the tradition-less Gators had posted at least five losses four years in a row before Spurriers arrival.
