That's better than what we have. My point was that the SEC Championship is earned (unless there's a tie breaker) on the field. Politics come into play with the NC now and always have before. That's why I said what I said about the SEC championship being more important to me.

Cutler beat us in 2005 I believe and Arian Foster had one of the best games a UT running back has had in a losing effort. Ended our then longest bowl streak in the nation

Being in the SEC we so control our own destiny when it comes to a NC each year. Many programs that go undefeated in a non powere conf.(Memphis) could win out and never get a shot and their only goal can be to win the conf. and get a good bowl game. The Vols played a major role in building the SEC to what it is today. Back in the 90's we were the gold standard, and only won, one NC. The next time we dominate a decade I would prefer more NCs. Please don't get us counting SECe as the prize.

6-7 years sounds about right considering how poor our roster was. On one hand, we are a few plays from being undefeated. On another we are 4-4 and should be.

We don't have quality depth and experience like Bama. They are a championship program. That sickens me to type.

We should win the east next year, but likely won't go better than 10-2.

When depth is there and we have teams full of redshirt juniors and seniors, that's when championships come regularly.

I will regret saying this...but its true...I cannot believe how many supposedly lucid, thinking adults are falling for the salesman moving the goal-line again.

I really believe, regrettably, that this job is too big for Butch....and he has finally figured that out.

Hope I'm wrong....love his recruiting. But that will run out soon without marked improvement on the field.

If 10-2 includes an L to UF that more than likely won't happen. If the second L comes in the conference that will just about seal it.

The road to Atlanta is going through FL now.

I'm not sure how Saban and Bama built that depth in his 2nd year after 4 coaches in the previous 10 years.

Here's to hoping. It's a tall order, to ask a coach to build a dynasty, he has started off the right way with recruiting. Gone are the days of winning much without talent(ask Spurrier). Now it's time to start rolling when it comes to the wins. Get Manning back on the hill, it could really happen.
