Yeah, and I'd be willing to bet he gets a HC gig in 3-4 years....Non P-5.

Similar to Kiff's and Sark's careers being dead.....

I'm not a Butch Jones fan (from day 1) which got me labeled as a nega-Vol. But coaching is a unique profession where they regurgitate people over and over. He'll wind up somewhere.

Kiffin still has NOT been offered another P5 Head Coaching Job and he’s a much better coach than Butch.

Not disputing Kiff's qualifications vs. Butch's but if you were on here from '13- until Oct. '17 many thought Butch was the 2nd coming of Vince Lombardi and took great pride when Kiffin flamed out in LA. They couldn't wait to rub it in his face when he showed up as Bama's OC in '14.

I disagree. While I admit the 35k per year is embellished I don’t see him having highly paid coordinator value. What has the guy accomplished other than riding Brian Kelly’s coattails? Also you reference Lane Kiffin who is a pompous @$$ but there is no denying the guy is uber talented. Butch isn’t a X’s and O’s guy like Kiffin. He is more of ra ra cheerleader type. I would agree he could have gotten a much higher position coach job like BRADY HOKE THOUGH!!!

Here is what I think happened during a random meeting at Alabama.

Saban:As you know I am a man who loves pranks. For instance the is the time I replaced all of Muschamp's underwear with some that were two sizes too tight. Then there was hacking Hugh Freeze's phone so he called Bimbo Fishers. But now I have a new one. I am going to find an idiot coach, make him my intern, and train him on how to coach. Except what I am going to teach him will make him a gross idiot which is 144 times more than your regular idiot. Now let me call Butch Jones.

8 years later Jones had been fired from being head coach at Florida. Some of the stuff during his tenure included:
-Strength and conditioning training involves pillow-fights
-When the Gators take the field everyone starts singing John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt
-Communication between the Florida sidelines and the coaches box is done via smoke signal. When stadiums do not allow this, messenger pigeons are used
-During his introductory press conference Jones says he is going to rebuild the Gators Lego by Lego

I disagree. It was more like one solid year and that was year 3, and he still underachieved and blamed it on Janzek(sp?). He appeared to have potential as the Vols were improving but still made obvious gameday mistakes that cost ball games. He cliches and gimmicks became more nauseating as years went by.

Hmmm...people were on here defending his "Championship of Life" quote in Nov. '16. A lot of posters still saw '16 as a success because UT beat UF & UGA.

It didn't become "nauseating" for most until after the UGA game this past season.

If we all know Butch’s true intentions and I think we do, he is doing this to sabotage UT and troll UT like some previous posters have mentioned. He has some true character issues imo. He holds grudges and is spiteful l, unlike what he preaches, which also makes him hypocritical. And before I get jumped on about casting stones, I admit I have been there too as I know all of us have at some point and time. Just hope he moves on, forgives and can find some true peace internally without having to look to external places.

If that’s his intention at Bama, it’s a lot of effort for no return. The only ones pissed are those determined.

Only Butch knows his true intentions, sickening that it has all come to be at this point and sad. The only thing in my opinion, is that we are at that point, or almost 6 months now that a mediocre coach (yes he was, you doubters), that could scream in a microphone demanding to know who would dare to play Sweet Home Alabama during a practice, to being the one that would embrace that team from the south. What a different sports world we live in.

How is he sabotaging UT? You think Butch is going to provide serious insight to Saban on how to beat UT? :eek:lol:

Bama doesn't need any help in that regard.

Kiffiin has different issues including the need to prove that he could effectively handle such a job without getting the school in trouble.

Actually not really - several former HC have went the same route. And some did not coach the next year at all.

I doubt Jones really wanted another HC job right away. If I was in his shoes - I would do the bare minimum to keep the buyout money, relax and enjoy more time with the family and less stress.

This actually keeps him associated with college football in a less stressful job in a position where fans and media are not going to pick at every little thing he says and does. It also gives him time to decide if he really wants to be part of that level of stupidity again.
