Butch Jones... How much longer

That coach across the field from Butch last night has a ton of Jimmy's and Joe's doesnt he?

He has 2 early round NFL draft picks on the D-line, and had 2 awesome linemen last year, so I wouldn't say he's exactly playing with scrubs.

I like Butch but he is stubborn and unless things change it will cost him. He has forced his offensive system and made little to no changes to adapt to personnel. Of course it's hard to do much with the porous line we have -/ but the play calling leaves a lot to be desired. The offense puts me to sleep and last night reminded so much of the Auburn game a few years back where all we needed was one first down to get into FG range and could not pick up a yard.

I wish people would stop crying about the coaches. The last thing Tennessee needs is more coaching turnover. It's the reason we're in the mess we're digging out of now. It's like running your head into a brick wall and expecting different results.

it's not the fight. The OP even stated he's a great recruiter. But you have to start questioning his in game coaching skills, not just because of bad play, but the calls. And for everyone busting Baj, why does no one ever remember that he's just running Butch's offense?

Yep- lots of freshmen, brand new line and critical injuries handcuff the coaches. The offense was vanilla due to the tenacious Missouri defense. If Malone makes that catch we have a different ball game. Missouri is a damn good team AJ being out really hurt.

You do realize some folks post from their phones, and when you are doing that, it is very easy to make a minor mistake in spelling and grammer, don't you? Ease up, Adolph.

the last thing you ever want to do to a great defense is run a vanilla offense. Why make it even easier for them? Also, AJ being out has little to no bearing on the offense. Especially considering the game was close throughout.

What more do you want him to adapt? The OL is a deficiency. We are thin at DT. What are your quick fixes?

This should have been obvious from last night. Pinkel has been there for years. His plan is well-established. His players may not be highly touted, but they are experienced and know the system.

Stability is what we need right now.

There is a small segment of our fanbase...that I wish would create their own website to post in. It would be about as joyful a place as Hades itself.

I just hate it when my phone changes grammer to grammar. Feel your pain.

Was it just me but did Mizz just simply look more talented than we did? Or perhaps just older and stronger? It was evident to me that this game was going to be tough to win after the first 10 minutes. They not only dominated the lines, but the blocking and defense on the edges especially. Their d-backs and receivers man handled our younger guys BIG TIME.

And to think we still had our shots late in the game should give us continued hope. Not the crap making up this post.

Some things you just can't scheme through. I swear some of you thnk with the right strategy, granny in a wheelchair could take out Tyson in the ring during his prime...

Serious question. People will blast me as a negavol ect. But like it or not... Hes not going to return us to prominence. Hes a great recruiter but a terrible tactician. And he's just one of these guys that scared to death of life. Like the guy in the highway that slams on his brakes in the middle of an intersection when the light turns yellow. I've been in the fence about him but I'm not anymore. We've lost almost every winable game he's coached in while here. The two he won (sc) both took miraculous comebacks that never should have been required. We were firmly in control of both games in the second half before getting conservative and trying to run out the clock. Last night we saw an example of a great coach. They got the ball off a to late in the game while leading and put their foot on our throats and won.

So two questions...Who's next and how much longer before we can afford to part with Butch? Serious questions so please don't merge...

His best "Jimmys" happen to line up against our worst "Joes" on every single snap. The OL is a HUGE key to an offense executing. If they don't execute, the rest of the offense doesn't stand a chance.

99.9% of the time, football games are won & lost in the trenches.

The offensive line was getting blown up. Coaches could have run two tight ends but they were getting beat inside and outside.
Dobbs was limited with space and time. Missouri has a great defense.
