I'm excited to see the results from these hires. Great hires with a lot of great experience imo. Nowhere to go but up boys.

He's fighting for his job and he knows it. It's good to see that the man is willing to change and adapt. I think some Fan's pride is a little hurt because we don't like to think of Tennessee as a "learn on the job" destination for coaches but at this point it is what it is. I just hope it's not too late for CBJ. I really don't want us to have to go through another coaching hire again.

First thing I thought about.... these guys will be screaming that CBJ isn't intense enough now. As Gomer says .."people sure are odd"...

Things will have to absolutely fall apart this year for CBJ to get fired. Just because a few causal, vocal fans want to go thru a coaching search ever few years doesn't mean the university or real donors do and that's who calls the shots. But I do hope this year put some of the amateur critics in a position to only complain about the weather, the food, their dates etc and stay away from analyzing football...

My fear is that Butch will always win just enough to stay employed.

Don't worry they would find something to complain about even with a 15-0 NC team.

For some, it is more important for their ego to be right than it is for Tennessee to be successful.

That's just called being stupid. Anyone who wishes for a coach to lose so they can be fired needs to be slapped.

Because predicting that the team will lose games, is the same thing as wanting the team to lose games, right?:thud::crazy::good!:

Does that mean that weather forecasters want a tornado to touch down when they predict one in a weather forecast? Damn evil meteorologists!

They ill create something to complain about, even if we win the SEC and the playoffs. It is in their DNA. Forget they exist and enjoy the season.

I still don't understand how people don't get that either way (nega or sunshine pumper) we all want UT to be on top again. Seeing the last 10 NC coaches can you honestly say you believe Butch is comparable? Be honest.

So that the next up and rising coach can be hired and folks can complain because it wasn't who they thought it should be. And when that coach has an average season - the same old same old will start again.

Still no excuse for wishing a team one supposedly supports will lose.
