Butch and Dobbs

You're several days late to a running debate. Trust me, his is the far better, reasoned, factual, logical argument than what the blithering idiot he's debating spews out.

Glad the bye-week is over and we had a game to watch. This game has proven again that NP is not ready for prime time, even in a back-up role. Really wish that was not the case because he is 1 play away from being our QB. Not bashing NP, but the facts speak for themselves.:clapping::clapping:GBO:clapping::rock:

I can assure you I NEVER accuse a person of lying for mere disagreement. I accuse them of lying when they knowingly and purposefully are not truthful - and only after being proven wrong. Unfortunately, those people exist - even among our beloved VN family.
:lolabove::lolabove::lolabove:

You are truly the most self-deluded person I've ever seen here... and that's saying ALOT in my 9 years on the board.

Most of these people were caught bashing a fellow Vol QB named Nathan Peterman.
I guess you mean being truthful about the fact that Dobbs is the better QB and that Nate for whatever reason seems not to do well with pressure, right?
When confronted with a pile of facts and evidence that proved their judgments unwarranted, they have proven themselves dishonest and many have proven themselves highly manipulative.
No one here has been more dishonest or attempted more "manipulation" than you.

I thought you two were going to get a room and just amuse yourselves?

Butch is attempting to make excuses for not starting Dobbs at the first of the year. Everybody knows Butch messed up big time for wasting Dobbs this year. If he had started we would be contending for the SEC East , more than likely.

I couldn't disagree more. Coach Jones is trying to motivate and challenge Dobbs. This is what every Great coach does with their great players. Really have you ever played sports? Getting plenty of love from everywhere else he's trying to keep him grounded and focused and it seems to be working.

On Mike Bajakian, Josh Dobbs, and the difficulties of evaluating a mobile quarterback in practice - Vols Beat

"So in August, based on what Jones and Bajakian have said (and I wasn’t here yet for the beginning, so based on what the other guys on the beat have told me about the first 10 days or so of camp) Justin Worley was very sharp on his throws, Dobbs missed on some of his routine passes and the dynamics of practice didn’t give him much opportunity to prove the value of his mobility. Worley was named the starter with about two weeks still remaining before the opener. With Nathan Peterman performing well enough to be what the Vols considered a serviceable backup, the Vols moved to take advantage of the fact that Dobbs still had a redshirt year remaining.

Dobbs opened eyes once the season got to the first game week and he was running the second-team offense against the first-team defense in service periods and acting as Chuckie Keaton in Utah State prep and then as Fredi Knighten for Arkansas State. But by that point, it was Worley’s job and he was playing very effectively, throwing for 520 yards and five touchdowns in the first two weeks. He had his flaws and made his mistakes, but most of the issues with the offense came from the porous offensive line and even many of Worley’s mistakes came because he was under pressure or pressing to make plays. Couple that with the intangibles of Worley, a respected senior leader, and it was difficult for the Tennessee coaching staff to consider demoting him, despite the possibility that it might improve the offense."

Get ready to be bombed (again) with FACT after FACT about how that isn't what happened though KBVol

You, sir, are just a Peterman hater.

Yes. Mockery, as well.

There are a couple or 3 on here that just refuse to believe that it was planned to redshirt Dobbs and a few others that just don't understand why Dobbs didn't start earlier. Saw this article on Vol DailyNews and thought it might be yet another source with the same, consistent information that has been shared earlier, that might help clear up any confusion.

Bumpage.....still more evidence that a redshirt was indeed in the plans for Joshua Dobbs....

@Vol_Football: JONES: When Justin Worley went down, we knew what Josh could do. We made the decision not to redshirt him and let him manage the offense.

As a big fan of both I am trying to figure out their relationship. After the last two outings Dobbs seems to be a prime time player, but listening to Butch his praise is very limited. OK I assume I know what butch is doing but without Dobbs cool demeanor and the team's belief in Josh no way we have a QB on this team other than him who could have gotten that done. Tough love but really? How bout some praise?

It has been noted that Butch has a strong bias against the brow-less.

Sadly, CBJ's character flaw is one that us fans will just have to live with going forward.

what happened in the spring ,summer don't mean squat. what happens in the fall is what counts. Where is Petermen right now ?[/QUOTE]

They remember what you did in November
