Burning Bridges

Redmond is choosing a God awful excuse of a college experience by going to Starkville. Congratulations. And I hope Four years down the road Kimbro enjoys being booed on his senior day in front of one of only a handful of "home" sellouts he will ever play for. It will be awesome when he won't be able to hear the snapp count on his own home field while he tries to lead Vandy to their coveted four win mark.

players committing to FBS/SEC programs is a success for a HS coach. Not sure I see the humor

It was a bad attempt on my part to find humor in the fact that the coach says they're going to succeed at MSU or VU. It is a success for a kid to go to those schools from an academic standpoint (and by this, I'm just being competitive from an athletics standpoint). I completely agree that sending kids to a D-1 school is a success for the coach, and for the kid. I think I did a bad job just relaying what I intended to say, and I think what I said was misinterpreted, cause it seems I caught a little heck for that. My apologies. :hi:

Sportscasters reported yesterday that our coaches wanted him to hold off on a committment to them. Could be he was a little slighted by that. In any event I wish the kid well.

I wish them both the best. Kimbrow is still a child - so you have to take that into consideration when judging him.

Did you expect anything better from a memphis recruit?

Do realize we have quite a few players on the current roster from Memphis including 3 incoming freshman? Did you know that the VFL coordinator is from Memphis? We have had alot of great players from the Memphis area play here and I'm sure they would not appreciate your comment. Looks like our own "fans" are the ones trying to burn bridges........

Just another 3 star tweener we would have on a roster filled with them. Really although I still say Dooley is a non recruiter this guy is nothing to get worked up about.

Looks like you just had to insert your opinion of Dooley being a "non recruiter" eventhough it had nothing to do with the rest of the post.

Maybe, but if moms is like the over 45 yr old Memphis drivers I know, which includes my family, she's not making it to Knoxville in 6 hrs.

I consistently made it back & forth in 5. 2.5 to Nashville then 2.5 the rest of the way.

I really don't get this argument about these guys being "children". In a few months they will be able to join the military, to possibly die for their country, and hypothetically have other mens lives in their hands, and multi million dollar equipment as their responsibility. A 10 yr old is a child, a 17 yr old should be ready to be a man. Just random musings. P.S. I know there has to be a legal line but to call 17 yr olds children is rediculous especially nowadays. A punk is a punk whether they are 17 or 50.

“I’m the kind of guy where I want to come home (for the weekend) on a Friday,” he said. “It’s only 2 1/2 hours away. And my mom can come see me play.”

If the kid wants to play closer to home so his mom can come to games, so be it.

People need to quit acting like the jealous ex-girlfriend when an 18 year old kid chooses another school.

I'm almost positive that UT will have another RB fill his spot.

everyone matures at their own pace. I was 23 before I woke up. This kid is obviously immature.

I think most are just pissed about how he handled it with the coaches.

I really didn't mean to say that Redmon was a punk. I don't know him, and I don't know if the rumor about him calling our coaches and comitting is true. I was just saying that using the excuse that because someone is 17 means you can not judge punkness for what it is, is bogus. These "kids" have families besides their owns futures in their hands. Coaching staffs depend on recruiting to stock their teams with talent, so literally their livelihood and professional reputations are at stake. A recruit having trouble making up his mind I totally understand. It is probably one of the biggest decisions they will ever make. A recruit who is playing games with peoples futures besides his own for fun, is a complete pecker and a total punk. JMO

Most just need to spend a little less time on volnation and spend more time outside in the real world.

It's too hot outside, and anyway if you think it is so reprehensible for us to be on VN. What in the he!! are you doing here. Hypocrite. I do agree that sometimes we get a little carried away though, good thing we got you here to help us prioritize.

Pull up the original Kimbrow thread and you'll be able to pick out the ones I'm talking about. They're the same ones posting stuff to his twitter. Yea the kid's a punk but is he worth people taking time out of their day to hate on him? Its Vanderbilt for Christ's sake

Exactly - the kid may be a monumental douche - but he's not mature enough to understand. Stooping to the level of an incredibly immature 17 year old isn't advisable.
