Odd that his forefathers were bred to face down cattle. Guess ol’ BEVO’s genetic memory got the best of him ...or “xim”. Longhorns are steers after all.
Always thought a gelding was an odd choice for a mascot.
Note to Aerie: when a fellow Vol fan is in the middle of making fun of other teams, esp. when they are attempting to pull off the vaunted two-team-simultaneous-dis, that is not the time to break out the old fact-check encyclopedia.Sorry, but.... not all longhorns are steers. Not sure where you got that notion.
Longhorn is a breed of cattle, replete with bulls, cows, heifers, and steers - like all other cattle breeds.
Just FYI.
Sorry. Grew up on a farm and couldn't help myself. Also, it just occurred to me that perhaps he was referring to the fact that they only use steers as Bevo. That I couldn't address as I have no knowledge. But no, not "all longhorns are steers." Would make sense to use only steers as Bevo though as steers tend to be less aggressive, of course.Note to Aerie: when a fellow Vol fan is in the middle of making fun of other teams, esp. when they are attempting to pull off the vaunted two-team-simultaneous-dis, that is not the time to break out the old fact-check encyclopedia.![]()
But yes, I still admire the transitive put-down skills that are "your mascot got skeert oft by a gelding."Note to Aerie: when a fellow Vol fan is in the middle of making fun of other teams, esp. when they are attempting to pull off the vaunted two-team-simultaneous-dis, that is not the time to break out the old fact-check encyclopedia.![]()
