Builder vs Bringing Staff

Out of that list, only Butch had a staff he could have brought. None of the others were head coach anywhere at the time of the hiring.

Correct me if I’m wrong but this is how I view it. Which is actually better for us?

1. Kiffin was a Builder
2. Dooley was a Builder
3. Butch was a Bringer
4. Pruitt was a Builder

Kiffin could coach, had a chance to beat Bama with a FG in the end. Haven't been that close since. Beat UGA with a gameplan for Crompton to have success with the bootleg.

Well, if you are a coordinator or have been out of the game a while and get a head coaching gig you will have to build your staff. If you are an existing coach with a staff you are comfortable with and you know each other well, it only makes sense to bring your staff over to a new program.

Don’t builders have their own laborers?

A bringer in this case is probably a better situation for the Tennessee football program.
