Also, the pace was fine until the end of regulation because we had held them under 70 until the last couple of minutes. They hit 95 but scored like 18 in OT. I thought the pace was fine.

Yup...it was 68-60 with just under 4 minutes remaining.

They haven’t beaten anyone.

They have 2 Top 50 RPI wins, 1 was on a neutral court and the other on the road...obviously not major wins but those are the types the committee gives a lot of credit for especially with the new emphasis on neutral and road games.

Great win, the only thing that concerns me, is do we have to count on PJ Washington going down with cramps. Even Grant admitted he did a good job guarding him until he got cramps. I did not get to watch second half, was it that or did we actually adjust? (Grant Williams in particular)

Both. Williams obviously played better with PJW out. But, Barnes made adjustments to attack UKs 2-3 zone, Cal refused to come out of it, and we generally looked to play with significantly more heart and effort than we showed in the 1st half. Cal also, inexplicably, reinserted Wenyen Gabriel (who had 4 fouls) into the game with 12:46 left. He picked up his 5th almost immediately. So, UK was down their two best players (at least on this night) for the last 12-ish minutes.

Neither of those teams are top 50 from what I can tell. Top 60. I bet neither ends up being top 50 once it all shakes out either.

Like I said they haven’t beaten anyone.

58 & 59, my apologies.

With the new team sheets a top 50 neutral site game and top 75 away game count the same as a top 30 home game...so while neither of those may seem all that big the new team sheets puts those wins in the same category as the Vols win last night over UK.

15 games in and their best wins are against teams ranked 58 and 59.

They have played a bad schedule and haven’t beaten anyone with a pulse.

Their SOS is currently 17th in the country, wtf are you talking about?? In comparison Auburn’s current SOS is 76th.

There’s a reason everyone has them currently in the field, you can say what you want but according to the committee they have 2 Tier 1 wins.

That SOS # is bogus. Always has been. What is the difference in playing teams ranked 100 and 200? Should beat both or you suck. But SOS weighs them differently.

If two teams play schedules against.....

Team A: 10, 35, 200, 225
Team B: 40, 100, 101, 150

Who would SOS say has played the tougher schedule?

It’s a bogus formula that is a way of being unbiased.

If you just use your brain you can see they haven’t really played many teams. The teams that were decent beat them. Their beat wins are against 58, 59 who will probably drop.

So half way through the season and they haven’t notched a top 50 win.

Mizzu has resume issues badly. Better start getting quality wins and on the road. Zero quality wins at the moment

I don’t even feel like we played particularly well. KY just played really bad in the 2nd half.

We are a good passing team, hustled way more than KY and shot more free throws, ultimately leading to victory.

My favorite part of the game was the layup Daniel passed up at the end to give Admiral a statement dunk.

Man hard to say a team that had 23 assist on 25 makes didn't play good

I almost feel spoiled watching this team though. It does feel like we expect more

So SOS is totally bogus yet it’s one of the few tools the committee consistently uses, interesting.

Vols played like crap in first half but Little is said about that from the Ky loving media. Kys 8 pt halftime lead had already been eliminated and Vols up 2 when Washington got hurt. That was due to more effective play by the Vols.

Williams and Schofield were lights out last night and Fulkerson had a super block that led to a Schofield slam.

This season will be one in the SEC where teams beat each other up and anyone can win on a given night.

Nice win.
