Bryce Thompson has been cleared to practice

You CANNOT assault someone with words.

You can THREATEN them...which in some cases is a crime. You cant assault them though....what is going on in Ktown???

Historically, "assault" referred to words, "battery" to actually touching someone, both under specific circumstances. Based on listening to TV news for years, I had a mistaken understanding of "assault" until we covered it in law school. At that point, "assault and battery" made sense.

Legislatures can define any word to mean anything with a statute defining that word. I see that some have cited statutes giving different meanings to assault, including physical contact, as well as threats.

I like this, he needs a chance to redeem himself but there have to be parameters he must follow and meet. If he has any further related issues it will be his third strike and everyone around him will have done what they could to help him. Whatever happens from here it will be completely on him.
Redeem himself for what? What parameters?

I'm very excited to learn what rules you'll lay down for him.

Guess you’ll have to remind me of when Kublanow did something comparable to Thompson because I sure as hell don’t remember it and nothing comes up on google either.

If you’re talking about the hit on Shy Tuttle we can talk about your fans booing Nick Chubb as he laid motionless in that same game from a terrible knee injury. Or I’m pretty sure I can find a dozen dirty hits by UT players.
The very dirty hit on shy tuttle

I hope this ends this forever. If there is a next time, where he is threatening a female, threatening to shoot up the school, or actually doing one or both, Tennessee, not just UT, is going to look like a state of fools. If there is a next time, one or more people could get hurt. There is NO place in todays world (or yesterdays) for a threat to shoot up the school.
If, big if, he said anything about shooting up the school. And exactly what steps has he took to do that? Bought an Uzi maybe? Tell me you have never yelled nonsense in anger. You and no one else on this board Knows exactly what happened that night.

Let's hope he keeps his temper in check and makes something of himself. I will tell you being a former LEO and IMO that Mr. Thompson is showing a repeated pattern. While he wasn't convicted of a crime while in SC, he did consent to a "civil restraining order" against him. Now up here in TN he's exhibited the same behavior that got him that restraining order in SC. The fact there were three witnesses's saying he said he was going to "shoot up the school" and he wasn't charged with a terroristic threat is beyond me, and that's coming from an LEO that served in SC and TN. Below is a snippet from WATE here in TN https://www-wate-com.cdn.ampproject...yce-thompson-has-history-of-abusive-behavior/

“I received a text message from him stating that if I found another guy he would kill both me and that other guy,” the woman said in a court filing obtained by WATE 6 on Your Side.

“He has physically slapped me, choked me and thrown me around,” the woman wrote in the document. “I fear for my safety, and am constantly looking over my shoulder.”

The woman wrote in the documents she was harassed and stalked by Thompson after attempting to break up with him “multiple times.” In those instances, she says, Thompson threatened to kill himself.

Included in the documents, an October 2017 Columbia Police Department report where Thompson threatened to harm himself and was coming to the woman’s apartment.

He was never located by police, but documents show, it ended with police talking to his mother. She told law enforcement she would call law enforcement in the future if needed.

The consent restraining order was signed by both Thompson and the woman on April 10, 2018. Two weeks later, Thompson attended Tennessee’s Spring Game.

Sound familiar?? If, this guy does something really bad TN has opened itself up for a big lawsuit IMO.
The restraining order was for both parties and it was for one year. I believe I read that the recent incident was with the same female who followed him to Tennessee. As in the AJ Johnson, both have been considered guilty without before all the facts had been discovered. In the case of A J, he was not convicted and lost years of his productive life, especially in the NFL. Too many people are willing to make judgements on hear-say rather than facts and evidence. Look at all the people who have been convicted of crimes and later have been cleared with DNA evidence. Enough said.

except it was the 2nd dirty SOB that hit him out of bounds...has nothing to do with gravity..
2nd guy fell beside them...no hit. And the knee was gone as soon as the leg buckled. Refs saw it. UGA fans have trouble dealing. Speaking of dirty SOB, seen that footage of Kublanow tackling a guy yards downfield from behind...scummy.

good grief you are blind if you didn't see the 2nd guy roll into Chubb, which is actually what caused the injury...looking for the video of Kublanow's dirty play, link it and I will at least be honest...something you can seem to do
