I was thinking the same thing. Comparing Alabama's runningbacks to Tennessee's is stupid because anybody could run with Bama's offensive line. Tennessee's on the other hand was a mess.

The line is a big factor, but what set Ingram and Richardson apart was their ability to make yards after contact. Not just "anybody" can do that , and not just "anybody" wins the Heisman trophy.

I've heard the hip issue could be a lingering issue and may be something that never goes away. He may have to play through the pain.

I thought for sure the link police would have been circling the block! Lmao

True dat. But the talent disparity between Bama's O-line and The Cardinal's O-line was huge. He picked up yards after contact too.

And can you imagine what Ingram's numbers would have been if he stayed in whole game like he did and ran the ball every play or like Tebow. There were games that he stood on the sidelines plus he had 2 more backs that played almost as much as him. The voters got it right this time, if you want to talk about screwed, I got one word "Peyton"

Why keep someone who doesn't want to be here? I hope you would spend more than 5 minutes recruiting players who want to play for UT. You are missing the point.

80% of the players we sign don't give a crap about UT until UT starts recruiting them. Been that way for a long time. It doesn't matter if someone "wants to be here" if they can't play dead in the SEC.

So Ingram should be penalized because he happens to play for a great team?

You got that right, what a dumb statement, makes about as much sense as "anybody" could run with that line. Bama has all the o line next year but all american, Mike Johnson, so if that is the case then why not just go ahead and give co-heismans to Ingram and Richardson, makes just about as much sense.

dang, this sucks for you Vols.. Chris Harper did the exact same thing at Oregon, and he ended up transferring to K-State. Called it homesickness. I only use Harper as an example because he's not a bad analogue to BB - they're homeboys from the same place (albeit, Harper wanted to play QB, but wasn't more talented than what we had, so we were playing him at WR). Anyways, hope BB sticks with it.

no way he leaves unles Poole beats him out for the starting job.

- will be the feature back as a sophmore.

- would have to sit out a year.

- his girlfriend goes to UT (let's not kid ourselves, that matters)

i have never bought this rumor. just doesn't make sense.

I hope he stays but I doubt it. There is a big difference in Kiffen/Coach O and Dooley. Kiffen/Or was use to the prima donas like USC has but Dooley won't tolerate them. I wonder if BB can take the punishment the SEC doles out. He had 2 concussions last year as a backup. He'll take a lot more hits as a starter, if he starts.

If he leaves, then good riddance. Poole, Williams, Oku and Neal are all we need. Poole is gonna be a great back, Brown goes down after the first hit everytime.

Bryce isn't as big a prima dona as people say. He's way more grounded than what you would think from a #1 pick.

From the interviews I've seen of him, he seems to be a very smart and well-grounded kid.

Just sayin

Ingram gained 1004 yards after contact (look it up, its there) I think that was just in the regular season

Usually yards after contact would be from people who were not blocked.

Not sure exactly how many Gehrhart had, but 1004 is pretty impressive.

He's not a prima donna at all. In fact, when he first got on campus, many people commented on his great work ethic.

If he hates the new coaching staff, I could understand why he would transfer. Why is that hard to understand?
