I don't care who starts, honestly. If Poole is the best option, then start him. Same goes for Oku
I think everyone agrees with this sentiment. May the best man win. The argument that this thread is engaged in, however, centers around BB's results vs. his expectations, and whether or not he showed enough this year to be considered the man to beat out for next season. I say he is the man to beat.
That's a real stretch IMO... It may be a long, long time before we see another RB that runs with the level of power and violent intensity that AD had at the college level. I don't remember that many backs who prognosticators said would have a short NFL career due to their "running style."Bryce Brown will be the next Adrian Peterson after he finishes his time at UT and gets a few years in the League.
Groves come'on that corner Castille was so overrated. I remember playing against him at a passing camp about two or three weeks after spraining my MCL. I was going by him with ease. He got to Bama because of his last name and that's it.

the way hardesy hits the hole so hard he made everyone who played with him at ut look timid. It's a relative comparison that unavoidable. Hardesty simply hits the whole with world class aggression. That's his mo.
Take nothing from brown. His cuts will get better as he gains more experience and if his hip gets stronger.

I realize this was against WKU, but he was healthy and ran over two linebackers and a corner to get in the end zone. I would like to see Williams do well, but we have not seen a healthy Brown since early in the season.
This is starting to annoy me with people. These coaches aren't doing anything on purpose to hurt the program! They want to win... PERIOD! They don't care who the players are!
Hi Phil Jr, nice to see you back.
Poole's problem is he's small and slow. Not sure how this translates into great speed back. If you think Poole's 4.65 would ever beat Brown's 4.32 and 20 extra pounds you are nuts. Poole runs hard but he's nothing special. Not to mention he pulled a T.O. this year on the sidelines.
He's on the bench because he is not an SEC caliber back.
Riggs was a dissappointment because he fumbled more than Arian Foster and couldn't block a slow moving 1st grader. BB fumbled approximately zero times in over 100 carries, and he had 4.55 YPC. I think you're diminishing BB's accomplishments here.
what you have just posted with regards to Tauren is, well just completely false!
i have known Tauren for years and have in fact seen every one of his HS football games save for one his Jr year. he was not recovering from a leg injury his Sr year and did not limp off the field and to my knowledge Coach Noland never asked him to sit out. his Sr campaign he ran for over 2,000yds and scored 34tds! now he was hampered his Jr year with a high ankle sprain that most know can linger but his Jr year he still ran for over 1900yds.
his 40 time of 4.65 was taken the spring of his Soph year at the Athens Nike Camp(google and you will find the info) where he finished 8th out of over 400 athletes in SPARQ rating. only other time he was tested in the 40 was by Chad Simmons of Rivals then but now Scout and was tested on grass at the HS field at 4.56 but since it was for a feature write up and not a official combine they would not update his stats on rivals.
oh and Congrats to Tauren for just being named to the Ga High School/AJC All-Decade team announced today!
