Bryce Brown Gone

For fsck's sake. Nobody likes the hire. We all get that it's a reach, it probably won't work, etc etc etc. But all of you sour POSs writing Dooley off before spring practice even starts need to just STFU and go do something else with your lives until September. Give him a chance to fail before you shiat on him. Do you not have women or children in your lives to go whine to instead?

We just need to stop for a second. People on here are trashing the guy and we don't yet know his reasons. He's a 20 year old kid (or younger).

If he really has family issues going on than I think we have no reason to be upset

If he really is upset about competition at the position than good riddance

If he wants to go play for X then let him sit out a year and then sit behind the competition they have there

If he's homesick and wants to go home than once again I can't really blame him. Sometimes it doesn't work out

And if its just nothing and he wants to come back, let him come back and compete for the job.

He's a young kid making rational or possibly irrational decisions. Only time will tell so let's give it some time

This really should be the end of it.

well crap

best of luck to him i guess (not surprised though, this is a case of a guy who was pretty much here solely because of kiffin)

...we just got worse in an already rebuilding year

I agree with this. It's the people that either 1. Think this is somehow CDD fault, or 2. Think BB is going to make or break this team with the potential talent we have at RB just need to stop. Let this play out, and let CDD tenure play out. Wait and see guys, sheesh!

he is lying he just wants to go play football with his brother back home and doesint want to sit out a year. dooley better make sure he sits out a year cuz this crap has got to stop...people need to learn that when they commit to somthing they have to live with it.

I hope he stays, but if he doesn't, so be it. I know he had a lot of hype coming out of high school, but overall, it wasn't like he was a difference maker. Not saying he couldn't be, but does anyone really know what he could have been. Regardless, I wish him the best of luck, and hope he stays and lives up to the hype. Either way, I don't think you can blame CDD for this.

May as well shut down the football section of the message board.

Point taken.

The only problem is this thread was started about Bryce Brown and turned into a "it's DD's fault" and "UT will suck until DD is replaced" thread (I am guilty too). How many of these do we have in the football section of the message board?

And Oh God The Humanity. Oh The Horror if we don't get news everyday. If you're freaking out about Tennessee football in March, then you're a loser with nothing much going on in your life.

well be fine. UT is better off with people who bleed orange! Stuff like this was bound to happen. Lets just hope everything works out for the best. GO Vols!

DD is a first rate goob. Mike H should be ashamed of this hire. I fear we are entering our Mike faze. As in the Mike faze Alabubba faced recently. It's going to be a long few years until we fire him and start looking for the replacement.

I would probably respect your opinion more if you didn't keep saying "faze".

I find it funny that people were defending kiffins abysmal record in Oakland. He was on his way to a second losing season when he was fired and hired by us. Dooley actually has a winning season.

La Tech played a pretty tough schedule every year too. Their OOC was brutal. Some examples: LSU, Navy, Auburn, Kansas, Mississippi, Mississippi St, Cal, LSU again and not to mention playing Boise State every year. Over the past 3 years we might have gone 0-3 against Boise too. Yeah he went 1-7 against that bunch much like we would expect the less talented team too. Kiffin didnt bring anything to the table in Oakland, Dooley brought La Tech their first bowl victory in 30 years.

So I guess what I am saying is some of you need to calm down, realize at this time last year we only had one commit, and quit :horse:

You're trying to compare the WAC to the NFL. Epic fail.

You are right Kiffin failed at Oakland with NFL caliber players. Wasnt necessarily comparing WAC to NFL. Trying to make a point that to say he didnt play a competitive schedule while at La Tech is false. But good for you, you found some meaningless objection to my post.

That's debatable.

He had losses to the likes of Utah State, Idaho, and Army. Not exactly football powerhouses there.

Gary Crowton coached La Tech for 3 years just like Dooley. Want to take a guess at how many losing seasons he had?

And La Tech is?

Besides bro we are talking about La Techs recent history are we not? I dont care what some coach did from 96-98. Bicknell's record at La Tech is more relevant to our discussion.

Bicknells last 5 seasons:

2002 Louisiana Tech 4-8 3-5 T-6th
2003 Louisiana Tech 5-7 3-5 7th
2004 Louisiana Tech 6-6 5-3 T-3rd
2005 Louisiana Tech 7-4 6-2 T-3rd
2006 Louisiana Tech 3-10 1-7

Also La Tech was an Independent 96 to 98 so who exactly were they playing? I cant find a record.
