I'm irritated at losing brown....I'm ANGERED over the fact that we have ZERO 2011 commitments. What is the hold up?

WTF is he thinking???? Sit out a year and go to USC or Miami?????

Good thing we got a stable of backs!

If he doesnt wanna be here then we dont wont him!

I like Dooley's no nonsense approach with this!

Honestly I thought Bryce Brown was severely Over-Rated since day one. Heck, I could go play play Pop Warner, and I would look like the best player in the country too. No competition out in the Kansas Rec Leagues. I think Tony Williams, if fully recovered, could be a diamond in the rough. Dude is hungry!! Speaking of hunger, does anybody on this site have the guts to say that Poole isn't the most driven RB we have? I'll take Under-rated vs Over-rated/unrealized potential any day.....Just saying....

and oh noes, we have no recruits. wah wah wah. its march. id rather have recruits in november, than in march. and even if we had recruits right now, we would be pissing on ourselves over the fact that they have X amount of months to jump ship and leave us for another program. hell, id rather just have recruits on signing day, then there is no question on whether they are with us or leaving.

Wow.. major loss.

Not based on what he did last year it isn't. I never saw him make an SEC level cut. He never showed good vision. He was never difficult to tackle. He consistently ran up blockers backs.

He looked good on the hoof. I was hopeful he would become as great as his recruit ranking. But Poole's 3 runs vs VT looked more like an SEC RB than anything BB did all year.

The hold up is the same as it was last year... everyone wants to see the product on the field before they put their name on it for the next 3 or 4 years.

but yeah it does suck that bb is leaving the program. but as others have said, we are in totally good shape at RB. this only gives poole, williams and oku more time to shine cause they are all full of potential.

We don't know the whole story of course but I'm going to give DD the benefit of the doubt and say that he's done everything he can do to get BB to stay. And if that isn't true then DD needs to get his butt in gear. You don't lose the best prospect in the nation and say "It's his loss."

All we can do is wait til we have all the details.

Rucker is reporting it's temporary and that he may transfer. Would wish him luck, but the kid should have went elsewhere if he wasn't committing to the school. Makes you wonder what illegal tactics Kiffin used to get him here.

Illegal? Maybe, maybe not.

Unethical and deceptive... all but certain.

There are a bunch of rumors swirling that it is for personal reasons - his girl friend is pregnant and he needs to move back home to take care of the situation.

Who really knows... all we know is he is dealing with some issues and is not a Vol.

Therefore, I waste no more time on him and move forward.

We have 84 more Vols to cheer for.

Good Luck to him. Liked watching him run. He ran hard.

I like Poole alot and Oku as well. Heard good things about Raijon Neal as well.

If we could afford to lose a player anywhere, it was running back. We still have some great players in the backfield. Let's all face it, Bryce is potentially a great player, but noone really knows if he would've ever panned out. It's a loss, but let's not go overboard with this. Just one player. If he doesn't want to be here, go to K State then.

Honestly this is a very accurate assessment, now Brown was obviously a freshman last year. However, what I saw out of Toney Williams his freshman year in the orange and white game blew away the way Brown ran. Who knows what could have happened, I think regardless Poole is going to be the starter this year.
