Yes I saw him... and no he didn't to pretty much everything else. I remember several times when he had the corner with a one on one blocker in front of him and still managed to tackle himself.
I NEVER recall watching him see a hole, plant his foot, and make an SEC level cut. I do remember him several times lunging into the backs of the OL.
Again, I think he has great upside talent but his RB skills need serious work.
Not unless he develops his skills. He isn't close to that level right now and wasn't last fall. Had he been that good, MH wouldn't have seen 282 carries much less 1000 yards. There is NOTHING that would have played into CLK's plan better than having BB with 280 carries and 1000 yds.
BB avg'd 4.55 ypc overall which sounds great until you look deeper. He avg'd less than 4 ypc against the SEC, teams with a winning record, and ranked teams.
If you consider many of his yds vs Ole Miss came in mop up, it gets even worse.
He's big and he's fast. That got him yards against lesser opponents and one big run vs So Car. Without that 37 yd run... he's again under 4 ypc.
For him to become a superstar, he MUST improve his vision, cutting, tackle breaking, patience,... pretty much everything.
I don't know for sure if he was or wasn't because the guy who might have been his competition wasn't given enough chances to make a comparison. Like I said though, if he was then Poole was not very good.
really, really hard to juxtapose this with the love for lamarcus coker.

To answer people who keep acting like he walks on water. Whether he returns or not, UT does NOT have a RB that has proven their SEC caliber.I simply don't understand why SJT just keeps hammering on BB. It seems never ending.
Not poor. Just not as great as some try to make out. He had a "good" year for a Freshman. There have been alot of Freshmen in the SEC post better years. For a player who really worked his tail off by all reports, and played fine for a Frosh, I just don't get it. I can't imagine TP himself would be this insistent about Brown's poor play.
.
"Just a gut feeling". BB is gone, there will be no presser. He is not working out with the team, and he is in no hurry to anounce anything because he knows he has to sit out a year whever else he may go. I am pretty optomistic about our team this year, just don't think BB will be on it.
Tauren Poole was a dominate back in the spring. Brown knows this. He knows deep down hes overrated.
First of all, the word is "dominant". Second of all, Brown didn't begin this process after Spring, so the performance of Tauren Poole has not driven him away.
Perhaps Brown is just upset he won't be able to work with the staff to which he originally committed and watched turn career nobodys into NFL draft picks.
Is there a point at which the University would pull his football scholarship for non-participation? Who would make that call, CDD or the Athletic Dept.? Does the NCAA have a rule about how long a player can continue to attend classes on an athletic scholarship when he is no longer participating in the organized athletic events?
Or should I just Google?
