What's the status of Bryce Brown? Did he hit the road? Sorry, been away from Vol news for quite a long time. A quick update on the situation would be much appreciated.

From reading the last post by ihatethebuckeyes, it gives me the impression that he is done. The naysayers only tweet when things go astray, it seems.

So far we have nothing on it but speculation. Some think he's gone, some think he's coming back and he's not saying anything yet.

So with 44 more carries at 4.6 ypc, that would be an additional 202 yards putting Brown just behind Richardson. Not bad at all for a freshman with half the line as Richardson.

Not really since there's only so many carries you can get vs WKU, Memphis, Ohio, and Ole Miss after they've put their back ups in.

Look at it this way, 275 of his 460 yards came in 4 games. The combined records of those teams was 18-33. Only one of them was an SEC team. Almost 40% of his yards came against the 3 teams UT played with a losing record. He went over 100 yds once and over 50 four times. His fifth best game was Ole Miss when 25 of his 34 yds came in the 4th qtr after UT was already out of it.

He has great potential. He simply wasn't a world beater last year.

And you don't think Richardson had these same situations? The fact is you give him 44 more carries at his average and he is 9 yards behind Richardson's total....the rest of the stuff can be argued from many different angles.

You can't really compare the two. Richardson had over 4 ypc against winning teams and the SEC. He was over 5 ypc against ranked teams.

OTOH, he played on a better team behind a much better OL. The two guys are oranges and apples.

I personally didn't see enough whole games of TR to make a stab at how polished his RB skills are compared to BB's.

I agree, but I was refuting Rex's statement about him being half the back, and the stats tell a different story.

He was thinking of leaving because (according to him) he was outperforming BB in practice, not getting PT, and not getting a straight answer from Kiffin as to why. Remember, Kiffin played the "every position is open" angle up big time.

Poole moves forward in RB race GoVolsXtra

He walked off the sideline to the locker room during a game and was wanting to leave the team. He was also rumored to be leaving earlier in the year. Everyone was predicting GT, Clemson or Duke at the time as to where he would end up. I am glad he didn't leave but he had to be wooed back. That is all I am saying.

he didn't drag out his decision. He told Kiffin how he felt and moved on. Brown needs to man up and make a decision.

You don't know the whole story on that incident. He didn't just get mad and walk off like you apparently think. There was more to it.

He decided to stay after going to Kiffin and talking with him. From everything I've seen, Poole initiated the meeting to try to see where he stood and if he was ever going to get a legit shot.

Poole did not "just walk off the field" Kiffin told him to either sit down or go the locker room, this with approx a two minutes left in a blowout game. Tauren did in fact initiate the meeting on Sunday with Kiffin for the reasons stated by sjt18. at that point he was told "it is what it is" and that they had the depth chart the way they wanted it. he was also told they would sit down after the season and discuss a possible release so he could seek another team. in Dec Kiffin and Poole talked again and Poole was assured again that he would be given equal shot and that if he felt that he wasn't he could get his release after spring. all the above was taken care of once Kiffin decided to leave UT. there u have it.

I agree completely with this. I wish Richardson would go pro this coming year instead of Ingram.

Not disagreeing, but by saying this you are basically conceding that Trent will be a 1700+ yard rusher, averaging over 6 yards a carry, with at least 300+ yards receiving, scoring 17+ touchdowns, and winning the Heisman. And...all of this would most likely happen in the 2011 season since 2010 will likely be lead again by Ingram. With that being said, you are also saying that Alabama will most likely win the SEC and possibly a National Championship again in 2011 because of the incredible stats put up by their star runningback. Once again, not saying it won't happen, but it would be tough.

And by the way, a lot of people are picking Bama to win the SEC and NC in 2010, and as a UT fan I just can't concede that for the next three years the entire SEC will be dominated by.....Bama. :cray::sick:

really, really hard to juxtapose this with the love for lamarcus coker.

I simply don't understand why SJT just keeps hammering on BB. It seems never ending.

For a player who really worked his tail off by all reports, and played fine for a Frosh, I just don't get it. I can't imagine TP himself would be this insistent about Brown's poor play.

And, your point in comparing this to his view on Coker is an interesting one.

All I was saying is that TR is proably better than Ingram or will be. I am by no means under the impression that everything you implied will happen, if any at all. I am sorry if I confused you. P.S. stay away from the chicken or the egg diss-cussion.
