if it weren't so blatant, I'd see it, but it was clear that it was pure aggression to me.

Taking a tongue in cheek jab at me in the form of an answer to another posters question is aggressive?

That's the definition of passive aggression....

But it's completely irrelevant at this point

I understand passive aggression, but didn't see his as such since it was clearly written solely for your benefit.

Sorry BPV...you came in a little too late...the reeming of thunder5 appears to be over...and I've got work to do

But if you hover around enough I'm sure I'll say something in the future that's worth your ridicule

This whole Bryce Brown decision is losing focus. The original concern was do we think that we should keep Bryce and not does he owe anyone an answer or explanation. Regardless of what some may feel, Bryce only owes the UT Athletic department answers as to what his decision is. I do not know for a fact; however I bet that it is safe to say that Coach Dooley knows exactly what Bryce is doing. As for me, I would love to have the guy back. Anyone that can assist in getting our football program back to what we are accustomed to here in Big Orange Country, well we don’t need to let them leave unless they truly do not want to be here. Bryce is a gifted athlete that has to make some tough decisions that will not only impact his future, but that of his family. If Bryce decides to leave, we should thank him for his time here at TN and wish him much success as he works through his personal issues. At the end of the day, we have a new coaching staff and many enthusiastic young players; this should be a great year.

Green light.

All right, I'm in on Hat's side. Even if it ends up being 3 vs. 2.

While we're at it, I say we open the bet to anyone who wants to join in. How about we keep it open until the UTM game kicks off?

Silly Girly Man Vol is on Hat's side. No. No way. Tell me it's not true.

Wrong. He owes you nothing. He owes everyone on this board nothing. He owes his teammates nothing. He owes the school nothing. It's his life. He can make any choice he wants to make, and he shouldn't be the least bit concerned about upsetting the almighty thunder5.

I feel like since he's getting a free education he owes the school something. He also owes anyone with season tickets and/or making donations to the athletic department something. In fact, if you have have one "officially licensed" UT t-shirt or hat or anything that sales proceeds go to the university, you can claim he owes you something.

One year of free education = one year of football. That account is all squared up. Everything else that you wrote is 100% unadulterated garbage. He owes nothing.

"The" leading candidate means Dooley said in all likelihood BB will start...

"A" leading candidate means he will have to earn it in competition with the other RB's on the team...

Do you seriously not comprehend the difference?

How could he say "the" if Poole is the man now. He has to sell Poole and Vol fans that Poole is good enough to compete with Bryce regardless of whether he was or not. If Bryce comes back he starts and Poole will have an excellent season as the #2 in my opinion. This is my take. I didn't want this topic to end so I thought I would chime in late. I would love Bryce to come back but if not I will support fully who is carrying the ball. Whoever it is will get a lot of carries.

Not sure if anyone has already posted this. A magazine with Bryce Brown on the cover was shown in "The Blind Side." I never noticed that before.

As per ESPN College Football Rumors:

Senior LB Nick Reveiz said that the Volunteers have not completely closed the door on RB Bryce Brown's return. Brown, a rising sophomore who was the team's second-leading rusher in 2009, has been rumored to be transferring for months now, but no official announcement has ever been made and coach Derek Dooley has never said that Brown would not be allowed to return.

"I was wondering about (Brown's status) yesterday," Reveiz told John Adams of the Knoxville News-Sentinel on Friday. "I tried to call him when I found out he was leaving, but I couldn't get in contact with him. I've heard whispers that maybe he would come back. I don't know where his mind is at. But if he wanted to come back, we would have open arms."

Ya think? Given the manpower shortages the team will face and the possibility that it could be in for a four- or five-win season, any help should be welcome. Reveiz issued one caveat: "He has missed a lot of practices, a lot of workouts. He obviously would have to make that up. He would have to work hard. Nothing would be given to him."

Would Brown return if he weren't guaranteed the starting job?

I hope he comes back. Our program is definitely in a beggars can't be choosers sort of state right now. I had kind of figured he was waiting to see how things shook out with the Big XII before making a final decision, because if KSU was going to be relegated to something like the MWC, I figured he wouldn't want any part of going back out there. I imagine we'll hear something pretty soon now that we have a pretty clear idea of the future of the Big XII, at least for the next few years.
