Did you even read the post...or did you insert your typical argumentative BS...

I said he owes it to his teammates more than anyone...regardless of what you think he's telling them all to go screw themsleves with this kind of behavior

"He owes a decision to all of us..." - thunder5

He doesn't owe anybody anything.

The difference between "a" and "the" isn't semantics. It completely changes the meaning of the statement.

It changes it to some degree. I don't think it changes it completely. I don't think he would say that any other RB was "a lead candidate to start" ... but I know what you're saying.

All Dooley has ever said is that he would have to earn his position...Kiffin handed 2nd string to him on a platter despite all practice reports indicating that Poole consistently outplayed him...

But let's trust your skewed interpretation of what actually happened...that's an even better idea

Take this lesson in "semantics" chief...it'll do you well

But, but I thought that all Dooley said was that he would have to earn his position. :ermm:

What you said I posted...

"He owes a decision to all of us..." - thunder5
What I actually posted

He owes a decision to all of us....but in particular he owes it to his teammates who are committed to the team and not themselves....

But this and 8282's confusion over the difference between "a" and "the" are actually pretty hilarious examples of the kind of revisionist tactics argumentative blowhards like the two of you will use to try to make your point

3 months to put everything in perspective...when your teammates went through the same thing and have all decided to move on?
I am willing to wager than no one was pumped up more by Kiffin than Brown. He trusted CLK and was sold a bigger bill of goods than the rest.

He didn't just commit to Kiffin... he committed to Kiffin's promises. Now he is more or less back to square zero.
I respect his right to make a decision but this has gone way past reasonable

Reasonable for who? I'd like to see a decision. I think it is in his best interest to make a decision in time to participate in summer work outs. I think it was dumb for him to skip spring camp even if he were going to transfer... but it isn't my life or decisions to have to live with.

I recommend what I'm doing. Assume he's gone and count it as a great bonus if he stays.

But, but I thought that all Dooley said was that he would have to earn his position. :ermm:

"The" leading candidate means Dooley said in all likelihood BB will start...

"A" leading candidate means he will have to earn it in competition with the other RB's on the team...

Do you seriously not comprehend the difference?

He doesn't owe you ****. End of discussion.

Dooley saying he's "the" man and "a" man are very different things.

Read what I said instead of believing someone else's interpretation....

He owes us all to a degree but more than anything he owes his teammates...and I won't back away from that opinion for a second

I get what you're saying and I respect it...I understand reasonable is a subjective thing...

I honestly believe in the long run if he continues to string his teammates out then it will do more harm than good for him to comeback

"A" leading candidate means he will have to earn it incompetition with the other RB's on the team...

No, I completely understand that it's not as definitive as "the" ... I'm not arguing that point. I'm just arguing that you said ALL that Dooley said was that he would have to earn it. He clearly thinks highly enough of Brown that he said "a leading candidate to start." Take that any way that you want ... but he didn't have to say that at all.

But, again, let's trust your judgment of talent on the football field as opposed to Dooley and Kiffin.

He doens't owe his teammates?

Are you his teammate? He doesn't owe you jack ****. I'm sure he's talked about it with his teammates. Suggesting some kid needs to consider you in one of the most important decisions of his life is an absolute douchebag thing to do.

Sure he would. Poole is certainly a "lead candidate to start" regardless of what Brown does.

"The lead candidate" would mean he's the one and only. "A lead candidate" means he's one in a group. That is completely different. One is commital, the other non-commital.

If I said you were "a" candidate for a great job, would that be different to you than if I said you were "the" candidate for the job?

So Dooley says that an immensely talented RB...if he choses to return to the team...will be a leading candidate along with every other scholarship RB on the team to start at RB and you think that's some kind of declaration that Dooley already has it in his mind that said RB will start...

Sound logic chief...sound logic :good!:

Right ... I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying that he hasn't said that about any other RB from what I know. Also, if you told me that I was "a lead candidate for the job" ... I would take that as if I was not guaranteed the job, but that the company thought enough of me at that moment to think that I was tied atop the list or at the top.

I think his teammates have more sympathy for what he's going through than anyone. I would be surprised if any of them are upset over it. They know they have to go on regardless.

No. He us absolutely zero. Not one single bit. As for the teammate crap, he's maintained pretty close contact with the team. You have no reason to suggest he's doing something they don't support.

Is it not clear at this point that the focus and main point of my whole posting is that he's stringing out his teammates...

So ordered...I retract my assertion...he doesn;t owe me s***...

After 3 months of drawing it out he owes his teammates and the University of Tennessee an answer

Who's the revisionist? Are you trying to now claim that YOU are not included when YOU USED the word "us"?

Bryce Brown doesn't owe, you, me, his teammates, or anybody else one damn thing.

So, all of our RBs are "lead candidates" ... yup, you've got sound logic on lockdown.

You really believe that?

I guess I can accept it if so because I respect your opinion...I just find that hard to believe
