Per Hubbs at Volquest said today's announcement is a rumor and the last he heard UT was heading out to Kansas to visit the Brown's but he was not sure when this was going to happen. Don't know if link will work but it's in GQ.

No decision today, all rumor per Hubbs. UT will be visiting the Brown's in Kansas, he thinks.

im sorry but i would like bryce to just leave already. im so sick of his bs. hes a little cry baby that just wants attention. it all started in high school with his "mentor" and him pushing his announcing date back to create dramatic effect. and if he wants to whine about playing time get over it. MH was a stud and he was lucky he got as many carries behind him. nobody cares bryce no matter how much you want us to. just leave. poole wants to be here and has stuck it out and waited his turn.

Guy. Come on. I've been critical of both Brown and those who think he walks on water.

But put yourself in his shoes. He's told that he's the number 1 player in the country. He takes his time making a decision with Kiffin bringing UT into the picture late. Kiffin does a sales job on him, probably promising the moon. He commits to UT, has a tough year, fails to really carve out a niche in the O,... then Kiffin leaves and the new guys says "Everyone earns it. no one will be favored."

The guy who all but promised you a 3 year path to the NFL is gone. Your prior year performance wasn't good enough to set you apart from the other RB's. You've seen Poole in practice and know there's no guarantee that you can separate yourself from him... in fact, it looks unlikely.

If his situation were just football related then he would have more than enough reason to question what he should do. However most reports have said that personal circumstances are just a much a part of this as football.

Bottom line- cut the guy a little slack.

Why even have a press conference? Whether he stays or goes, it's not really worthy of any type of production. Issue a press release and be done with it.

I agree with you, but others probably don't. According to the needy segment of Vol Nation, one of the knocks on CDD is that he doesn't hold news conferences to tell us what he has for breakfast. Surely this is more newsworthy than that.

Can someone please explain why we are "visiting" the Browns in Kansas? Where they not just here on campus in a meeting with the coaching staff. Are we not spending too much time on the Browns when we should be focusing on the 2011 class? I'm all for them coming back, but this is getting absurd.

Well if we are flying out to meet them in Kansas it sounds like we serious about the package deal.

Because Dooley has realized how much these guys will help and he is re-recruiting them.

Maybe they invited them to get to know them better? Maybe one of the coaches is recruiting in the KC area and offered?

A bird in the hand...

This is the only explanation I could accept at this point.

Yep, its the internet age. You've got kids, and like-minded adults, that expect to know everything, before it even happens.

His brother came out of HS pretty well rated. Maybe our staff sees something in him that they like alot and also want BB back. We honestly need a skilled player at his brothers position more than we need one at Bryce's.

Because this is an issue because of the Browns in Kansas. Not the Brown already in Knoxville. They dont have to recruit, sell anything to Bryce. He wants to be here but his dad is the one who needs to be convinced.

I agree 100%. With the staff going to Kansas I think they are going their to seal the deal. I would think we should here something within the next week. I think BB wants to stay at UT but wants his brother there to. I just wish he would have brought this to the staffs attention before now.

You guys who keep referring to BB as a crybaby, etc, don't have a clue. By all accounts from anyone who knows him, or from anyone who has observed him while in Knoxville, he is a good kid who works hard and is a good teemmate.

Quit making stuff up.

are you kidding? the people that say that stuff are the ones that probably have inside access to the situation. why else would they possibly say it?

IF he wants to come back...let him back. Don't go out of your way CDD!!!!!

Old friend once said..."Birds fly, fish swim, players PLAY"
If he is good enough, he will stay and play! If he leaves....it is because he is scared and does not think he is good enough! If that happens........go to KSU...how many good RB's have come from there???? (Sprouls????)

What did he show last year???? NOTHING!

Good teammate? So good in fact that he didn't feel like it was necessary for him to play in spring practice. And now he wants back on the team? A good teammate would have gone through the practices and drills with everyone else before he decided anything, IMO.

Really?

But this is my point, his dad was just here on campus, and unless the reports were wrong, both sons and dad met with Dooley.
