People who hide behind a keyboard to throw insults at someone they have never met, and are basing their judgments off of speculation are not exercising the first amendment.

If BB was not the #1 HS recruit in the country...noone would care what he did. HS is over. What has he done to show UT fans he is special???? Nothing.

If he wants to play, show up and compete for the starting job. If he wants it handed to him, go play 1AA.

If he hadn't have been the #1 ranked player, people would be praising his performance as a freshman (almost 500 yards rushing despite playing behind a 2nd round draft pick who rushed for 1400 yards, and behind a weak OL at that).

Just because he didn't win the Heisman as a freshman doesn't mean he's a bust.

Those who actually know Brown raved about his work ethic last year. He doesn't expect PT to be handed to him. And it certainly wasn't Brown who whined so much about lack of PT last year that he walked out on the team during a game.

No one who watched BB last year should be all that impressed. He was largely ineffective against quality competition and didn't show the refined skills required to be a great back in the SEC. His 460 yards weren't "almost 500 yards". UT only played 3 teams last year with a non-winning record. In those 3 games, BB rushed for 177 yds and avg'd 6.32 ypc- 59 ypg. In games vs all others, he rushed for 283 yards, 3.88 ypc, and 31 ypg.

UT only played 3 teams that made the final BCS rankings- Bama, UF, and VT. He had a total of 19 carries vs UF and Bama averaging under 3 ypc. He didn't play vs VT.

Before you complain about the OL, MH carried the load in competitive games behind the same OL and still avg'd more ypc than BB.

That said, he has a world of potential and will be an outstanding RB somewhere unless he self-destructs off the field or gets injured. But NO, he hasn't proven himself to be anything special yet.

I was impressed with Bryce last year, you could tell he wasn't comfortable when he was running. I hope he comes back, but it wouldn't kill me if he doesn't.

He was injured and backing up Montario Hardesty, a second round draft pick and senior running back, so I didn't expect great things from him. But he did have a decent year for a second string.

Why is this thread still in existence?? At this point are there really people out there holding out hope that he will return as a Vol?? Let it go already. He's gone!!!

Then you proceeded to do just the thing you condemned in the above post by calling people you don't know cowards while hiding behind a keyboard. That's what was ironic.

well this kid needs to figure it out quick. if i was on the team i deff would be RED about this little twerp sucking up all the oxygen and making my coach go out to kansas and re recruit him instead of working on the future clasess and getting ready for the summer sesions...

but i deff think he is going to have a bullseye on his chest this year in practice if he stays..

And I admitted that it was ironic.

I just think there is a difference between defending someone that is having completely unproven claims made against them and making said claims with no proof.

Maybe calling them a coward was a little far. But they have no proof as to BB's reasoning and I don't believe that is fair.

who cares were stacked at rb..... i dont even care no more... if the boy wants to wear orange..... then dammit lets get on with it.... he's just all drama at this point.... if hes leavin lets get the hell on with it so we can focus on more practice.

This is my biggest problem with all of this. I wouldn't -mind if all of this crap was going on in K-town, but to have the coach chase you around the country to try to get you to come back is a bit rediculous. If he comes back, Dooley will probably say that everything is fine from a team chemistry perspective, but this nonsense can realistically only have a negative effect on the locker room.

Not sure why UT is spending more gas money on this kid...I mean seriously, flying out to KANSAS??....Ridiculous....Let Bryce go someplace where they will kiss his rear and give him undeserved playing time...I hate saying that as I was just as excited as everybody when We got him to begin with but seeing how he is and how much attention he wants I would just as soon say goodbye and move on....I don't make those decisions however.
