I've actually spent some time in Eugene, the Pacific Northwest is great, but Eugene is a hick town... probably even more country than Knoxville. They have a strong fan base, but honestly I can't understand what would attract a kid aside from the Nike connection... they are an annual whipping post for USC, they have a historic but dinky stadium, total hippie town... isolated from any big cities. Not that Knoxville is a bustling metropolis, but it is head and shoulders above Eugene.

P.S. Oregon chicks.... not that hot.

Can't understand what would attract him to Oregon? The area is beautiful and the university is good academically. But, given that he is a running back, it could be that they had two 1000 yard rushers last year and 47 touchdowns on the ground. They beat USC year before last and I believe have a good shot this year at home. Might be a shaky year for USC without Sanchez and still no identity in the rushing game.

And Oregon chicks aren't hot? Are you sure that you just weren't invited to the right parties? ;)

Doesn't sound like he will choose Oregon if he doesn't want the entire team resting on his shoulders..... I am most worried about LSU, because of the article on his website and the "unofficial" visit to LSU.

No Oregon team under Chip Kelly is going to rest on one players shoulders. His entire offensive philosophy is to force defenses to account for more field. You can't do that going to one guy the whole game.

You never know. He could go to LSU. But, would be a surprise to me. It's just late in the game to be trying to sell how invested a program is in taking a recruit on. Plus, LSU runs a vanilla rushing game. I don't think that running the dive 9 out of 10 rushes would be great use of a back like Brown.

and BOTH of those runningbacks are gone.......so Chip Kelly sends "you" to VolNation to pull Bryce back to Eugene. Do a service for the Ducks....go start a DuckNation. There is NO point of you trying to sell UO to a UT fan. There is no comparison.

Johnson is gone. But, although Blount was suspended, it appears that he will be ready for spring ball: Sports: Home | "Blount says suspension was for missing workouts" | The Register-Guard

Just discussing the subject. Not trying to sell anything to anyone. Like Brown said, Oregon sells itself.

FWIW: This is probably the site with videos for Dixon's rehab that Brown was talking about: DennisDixon10 -- QB Drills & Film Review Videos

I am most worried about LSU, because of the article on his website and the "unofficial" visit to LSU. Does that mean he is going to LSU for his last visit, or does that mean he is making an "unofficial" visit to LSU after his last visit? Either way, I would be worried that he will jump on board with Les Miles' already monster class............

btw, seems like a kid with a good head on his shoulders, doubt he is worried about free shoes...........and Oregon girls are hot :)

Welcome to VolNation...enjoy your stay.

I can't explain it either. I live in Wichita and a lot of the kids here love Oregon. And have for a while. The city had a big recruit go there last year. It is a different culture here in Wichita (football isn't that big) to the point that a lot of people here in Wichita don't even know who Bryce Brown is. There is a sort of awe surrounding the Northwest for a lot of folks around here...on a side note, Bryce is a very cool young man. I have met him adn watched him play. Very solid young man...just very adamant about protecting himself and not getting himself in his brother's shoes. Arthur feels as though he made a bad decision from what I am hearing.

I was talking to Bryce the other day on facebook and ask him how come he hasn't considered Tennessee, and he said that he has never been contacted by Tennessee. So I asked him would he be interested if he was contacted and he said most deffinatly. Does Kiffin not know that he is interested or is this just Kiffin not wanting him like Tajh Boyd?

thats crazy we need bryce brown. or david oku. if they dont go to tennessee eric berry will rip them apart while darren miles jr is intercepting every pass. eat it. and where is orson charles, he said he liked the visit, but he barley consideres tennessee

EB and Rod Wilks are friends, and Rod Wilks says that he doesn't mind the trash talk. I'm just sayin, better sleep with your eyes open.

I'm tellin you guys... I had Rod Wilks out cutting my grass this weekend and he didn't do a very good job... He also burned the tacos so I didn't even pay him. He called me a big meanie and went home crying...

So on the show, Bryce was on with Brian Butler... On Tennessee, said he had a good visit, "lots of nice people down there." Also says "he spend lots of one on one time with Coach Kiffin talking about the offense and how he would fit in." He mentioned taking an "unofficial" visit to LSU in a couple weeks.

Lots of K-State homers calling in trying to pump him up on K-State but his reactions were luke warm.

He did sound upbeat about Oregon... talked about how the uniforms and "shoes you get," said "Oregon sells it self and they care about their players." He was impressed with how they handled Dennis Dixon's injury, especially how they set up a website for him giving the NFL scouts updates on the progress of his rehab, Bryce said that showed how much they care.

Bryce called the CFL rumors "non-sense."

Said he is going to announce on March 16th now...

Thats it...

You will see B Bulter woddling around trying to get "situated/fit" in his chair.

I watched that interview and it honestly didn't seem to bad for ut. Yes, he did talk a lot about oregon but it also seemed that the reason he did was they asked him way more questions concerning oregon than ut. I'm not saying I even like ut as the favorite, but we definitely are all even (UO, UT, UM, LSU)

No, we aren't even Top 3. Oregon, Miami, and LSU all seem more likely destinations for Brown.

It is time to let this kid go unless this is a Nuke' type thing. This recruitment has been a circus or a House of Mirrors. Either we get him or we don't plain and simple. I think he is struggling both from a good and bad perspective about UT. Simply put we, UT, have to many "what ifs" and "don't knows" or "should be's" and "could be's". We are like the girlfriend you cannot just cannot get rid of. His decision making ability absolutely sucks and instead of a dwindling list it seems to be growing.

I would not be surprise if there is not another school or two that comes into play. He does want to carry a team. I do not want a player that does not want to shoulder weight when called upon. Those are players that help win Championships on Championship TEAMS. The main word being TEAM. This sucker wants to coast and not earn it then he can go to Oregon and win nothing and on to the NFL. I do not want that hoopla waiting for him to announce to Go to the NFL. He could Go to USC and wait his turn. Go to Miami and be with his brother or Go to LSU and get screwed by lies on a 3 yard run and pile of dust. To be honest this kid is not even Tennessee Caliber because he has no heart towards this university. All the kids that make it in the SEC as running backs are noticed but are not as highly touted as this one.

I am not willing to sell out to this sucker and anybody that does will be less of a team.

I think that Kiffin should tell all these prospects he is recruiting this year to either crap or get off the toilet in response to having them sign by signing day. Tell them either your on board or you can go flounder around and pick somewhere else. This hurts the whole recruiting process for the kids who wait and the kids in next year's class as well when making the big board for recruits.

I agree. I think BB will be a big reason why we could potentially lose Oku. We have wasted our time trying to recruit BB and Oku doesn't want to commit w/ the possibility of the nations top recruit coming in too. He also probably feels like he is not as big of a priority as BB for the UT staff.

We lost Oku because of the whole AA coach thing from the way it looks. He really wanted to play for an AA coach it seems and that's why he has Syralose and Auburn as destinations now. I maybe wrong, but once Drayton hit the road, so did Oku.

I don't know that he will come to Tennessee, but from this interview, I think we are in the running. If you listen to the Oregon comments, he downplays the shoes and uniforms at Oregon and talks up the coaches and people at Tennessee, while at the same time saying his choice is more about being comfortable and liking the people he will be around in school. I still think Oregon is the team to beat. This mentor thing, however is a joke. I'm surprised he didn't break that chair!

Is it coincidence that of all the prospects on Butlers website, and the many numbers of lists for his prospects, that not one of them list Tennessee? Doubt it.

I'm glad CLK didn't fill a "quota" of AA coaches just to get some recruits. If Oku didn't want to learn from one of the best RB coaches in the profession then it's his loss.

Is their a precedent for universities telling kids like BB that they don't want anything to do with their mentor/manager? I have to think that coaching staff's would prefer not to deal with people like Butler and I would think that some HC's would give BB the advice that Butler is a scumbag who doesn't have his best interests at heart. Is there nobody in BB's corner who is trying to protect him from this parasite?
