why is a oregon fan on here talking with us if he goes to oregon good for you no one will lose sleep over it. its not like its within the sec.. imo bryce will not go to oregon simply b/c its oregon great facilties but no exposure what so ever its usc in the west coast and that is it... he knows he will be irrelvant out there at oregon but if he goes to usc miami or ut he will have that platform he wants...if he visits us next week like he is supposed to i see him commiting in the neat future

everyone needs to stop talking about how he "wont get any exposure at oregon"... if he is amazing like everyone is expecting, he will get exposure no matter where he goes. If i remember correctly, dennis dixon got plenty of exposure at Oregon.

yh b/c he was a heisman candidate at qb leading a undeafted season at running back it is a diffrent and not being a top team either he wont be

the way ppl are talking about bryce brown, i dont see why he cant lead a team the same way dixon did. my point is that he is gonna get exposure no matter where he goes.

Not really. 3/4ths of the country never sees a PAC 10 game. They have a terrible TV contract.

It's not easy to find even USC on the tube, and they probably have the premier program in the country right now.

On the other hand, if he goes to an SEC school, he'll have a chance to be on national TV every week.

Wasn't CLK's latest comments, "this class ISN'T finalized" and not, "this class MAY NOT be finalized"?

Maybe I am reading too far into this, but there seems to almost be an assuredness there - the likes of which we last saw before Jackson committed.

Secondly, I understand all of the concerns that some are expressing about the antics of his "mentor", but honestly, does anyone think that if he'd done anything to jeopardize his eligibility that the NCAA wouldn't have already done something at this point - especially considering that he's the far and away top recruit in the land, and who remains unsigned. If there was a perception that something could occur, I think you'd see some schools pulling away, and that's not happening, either.

Lastly, i'm not worried about once he gets here, either. We have a Compliance Office that is one of the strictest in the conference, and maybe the entire country. They just turned in our staff for using a smoke machine - i'm completely confident that they go over him with a fine tooth comb before he'd be admitted, and would be vigilant in watching him while he's here.

I say it's certainly odd, but not worrisome. We'd be LUCKY to get him.

I am like several others and just have a feeling we get him. Just a hunch.

This guy's a perfect fit for us and vice versa. He'll look awesome in orange and white.

I'd suggest the dark black face shield (see Vol Freak's avatar), but I'm fine with whatever Butler likes if he can help us get this guy on the Hill. :)

Illegal in NCAA.

You know it could be another PR ploy by CLK when stuff dies down over CUM to sign BB to get UT back in the spot light.Just a thought.

Signing Brown would be huge and would put UT in the spotlight again. Signing the #1 rated recruit can only be good publicity but the whole mentor thing scares me. OJ Mayo comes to mind!!

just watched his highlights...very impressive. When he decides to switch to another gear, everyone else looks like they are in slow motion. Hits the hole really fast. A few of those runs he cuts back and forth practically all the way across the field 2 or 3 times, so he shows great vision. Only thing I didnt see was power because he never had to use it. He just ran around people or made subtle moves to avoid a tackler.

indeed...he doesnt have to hit a lot of people. but watching this kid in person this fall here in wichita. woah! let me put you at ease...ive seen the guy flatten a lineman. went right over the guy. he is definitely a stud. i am not worried about the mentor...dont think he runs the show as much as bryce. bryce would have been in miami if his brother would have tole him to come, the issue is arthur has told him he may not like it there. so...with that being said...we await you bryce.

why is a oregon fan on here talking with us if he goes to oregon good for you no one will lose sleep over it.

Because some people here were needlessly trashing Oregon.

I don't have anything against UT and wouldn't begrudge them if Brown chooses to go there. Just, for the sake of debate, I don't mind standing up for the Oregon program if I see statements like, "it would be a waste of Brown's time" to go to Oregon. That's all.

As the #1 prospect, he is going to get attention wherever he goes. Any player, if they play up to the level people project Brown to, will get attention at any program.

I will say this, Bryce Brown is the type of player that is going to play at the next level regardless of who he signs with. Is one choice better than another? Maybe. But there are still unknowns in every program from Brown's perspective. Regardless, he is a rare talent and will likely be a high draft pick in 3 years.

I agree 100%.

An interesting twist to this is that Oregon is actually scheduled to play UT in 2010. So, if he does choose either school, it will be a fun sub-story to that game.

Exactly. ESPN GameDay came to Oregon twice in the same season that year. Brown would get plenty of exposure there, just as Jonathan Stewart did before skipping his senior season to enter the NFL as a 1st round selection.

yh b/c he was a heisman candidate at qb leading a undeafted season at running back it is a diffrent and not being a top team either he wont be

Not quite right. The second time ESPN came out to televise the Ducks nationally was for the USC game after they had already lost to Cal earlier in the season.

Fans tend to watch their conference games. Do you think I'm out here watching Tennessee play Florida, etc.? Good teams and players get coverage in the Pac-10 too. There are quite a few quality Pac-10 players in the NFL.

West Coast exposure stands to increase as well when the new ESPN broadcast facility opens in Los Angeles: ESPN is on schedule to land in L.A. in 2009 - Los Angeles Times

It's not easy to find even USC on the tube, and they probably have the premier program in the country right now.

It goes both ways. There are lots of people out here too. Tennessee is on TV on the west coast maybe once a year. If they're on more than that, not many people notice because they're watching Pac-10 games.

wheaton if he goes to oregon so be it...but my belief is he will choose ut over oregon if its down to those 2 schools...nothing agaisnt them i like oregon in the pac 10 that beat down of michigan was nice.... nobody knows where he is going so this is kinda of waisting everyone time but we love to do it anyway

I live in Junction City kansas and the High school team here recently won the state title beating the team Bryce Brown was on but let me tell you... from what I have seen in person he seems to be a really good Rb. The game was close but everytime he touched the ball I think the whole crowd was holding their breath.
