I think you guys have as good of a shot to land him as anyone at this moment. Maybe your coaches can impress him and get him to come. Who knows.. It will be interesting to see where he goes..

Does he look like he would fit on Rocky Top? or Miami?

He has South Beach written all over him.

All I know is that he is an extremely articulate young man and any program would be lucky to have him. He is getting an unfair rep because of his mentor. Bryce is a good young man.

Sorry I couldn't read the 38 pages of this post. So can anyone tell me...has this visit on 2/13 been confirmed somewhere?

Bryce himself said he's coming next weekend. We all know how that goes though. He's liable to change his mind at anytime. Nothing is confirmed for sure until he shows up on campus.

Agreed. I don't think any recruiting service or reputable website would confirm his visit until he's seen on campus. Kid is hard to predict, which is why he's getting all of this attention. That's exactly what he wants.

If you guys don't think that the attention minded Brown wouldn't make it known where he is visiting to a major recruiting service so that way all eyes are upon him when he is here, then your nuts. Brown is to attention whoring as Tiger Woods is to golf.

As I said before, I think he has gotten a bad rep because of Butler. I don't think much of this is due to Brown and that Butler has more to do with confusing him than anything else. Brown's a good kid. Don't fault him for some ridiculous comments from the guy who is supposed to be representing him to some degree.

Agree. I wonder how all this will affect Butler's reputation and his ability to generate income from athletes.

It's not like anyone associated with the League wants to be represented by someone who screws with the minds and reputations of high school kids. He really needs to leave the game alone.

What makes you say this eric? He seems incredibly well spoken and I just think his family is fed up with recruiting. If he was attention whoring, wouldn't he be giving everybody interviews?

:eek:hmy:
Do you really believe that?

Teams give a player different amounts of opportunities for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes they split carries simply because they have different backs on the squad with different strengths and weaknesses. So, they put one guy in for certain packages and situations and another in for others.

Anyone who has been watching football for a while knows that it doesn't come down simply to "who they like most." Sometimes, teams have trouble getting their more talented players opportunities. Larry Fitzgerald didn't have a reception until the second half of the super bowl. Do you think that was because they don't really like him as much as Breaston? Sometimes, a team simply doesn't have any other viable options and will give players more opportunities than they would prefer.

Bottom line is that it is a falsehood to claim that Brown would be "wasting his time" at Oregon in preparation for the NFL. Brown has already excelled in the same system Oregon runs and there is already one successful RB in the NFL out of that system.

Smith wasn't a very good NFL back, period. Yards per carry is a horrible guage when trying to grade him. He had 231 total attempts. I remember one of the knocks on him coming out of college (like so many RB's) was the he wasn't an every down back. He couldn't run between the tackles very well. As it happened, that was case in the NFL. He was used as a back-up, because he was back-up material.

Also, I've not read this whole thread, but didn't Smith transfer from Tennessee to Oregon? Seems like he couldn't even make it at Tennessee, so he had to go to Oregon just to start.
