The Bryce Brown saga has just gotten a bit stranger. Jaws will be dropping at a unique approach to the recruiting process just adopted by Brown. Don't miss this breaking news.
Rivals.com has a story up about Mr. Brown... Anyone with access care to summarize this article? Is this good or bad news for us?

This is a super weird article.

They've been getting 50 calls a day and are now setting up a website so the kid doesn't have to be hassled all day long.

He wants to make info public so that he doesn't have to answer the same questions multiple times.

He is apparently out of school already but won't be signing till after NSD if Miami still hasn't hired a new OC that Brown can hit it off with. It seems UM is still in the running then.

He said he is considering going where the best linemen go.

Which is unusual...but it makes sense...he wants to play behind a solid line.

Here's a quote---

"He's mentioned Marcus Hall and Morgan Moses as well as Bobby Massie. He's really paying attention to those three as well as a couple of more Miami is recruiting."

We are still battling for Hall & Moses as well...

That would be insane to pick him up because of an O-line commitment.

From the Wichita Eagle News - December 31, 2008

"I'm committed to Miami and it's coming down to Miami and Oregon," Brown said.

Brown, one of six finalists for the Army national player of the year honor to be awarded Friday, said he would not enroll in college next month for the spring semester and didn't have a timetable for a final decision on the Hurricanes or Ducks. He can sign a letter of intent beginning Feb. 4.

Brown's brother, Arthur, just completed his freshman season at Miami and will be at Saturday's game. His friend, Chris Harper, is a freshman on the Oregon team that met Oklahoma State in the Holiday Bowl on Tuesday night.

Earlier this month, Brown spoke with returning Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder. He also visited Clemson during the season.

I think someone needs to explain to Bryce what the term "committed" means.

I think the kid could end up any where, including Knoxville.

That article is 14 days old. We are in the world of fast-paced recruiting wars now. That is from 2008! We are witnessing the 2009 Volunteers take shape.

The point I was making was not "breaking news" its that the kid continues not to know what the word "committed" means.

I am pretty sure we do not get Brown but it is nice to see that Kiffin has the #1 rated player thinking about us in just over a month. I think it is a sign of things to come. We will be a recruiting powerhouse in the years to come.

UT has always been a recruiting powerhouse. you need coaching.

South Carolina is like a retirement home for the SEC. It is the place old coaches go to die!!!!!

I love UT, but I've never rooted against Oregon. But I will next year :D

I have been to their Campus and seen their facilities they are awesome.

Oregon's uni's are far from ugly. I'm pretty sure that they have hundreds of different combos that they can use. I remember hearing that they could go decades without wearing the same uni twice. Thats pretty sweet if you ask me.
