Off Topic, but just reminded me. Is the Pita Pit still in business next to Vic and Bill's?

You mean Pita Pit on the strip? If so, then yes, it is still in business, and freakin' awesome. I want me some Pita Pit right now.

you guys are way behind the ball on this.

he was getting 50 calls a day and his phone was turned off so he could avoid the hassle.

I'm not sure that anyone affiliated with Bryce gets any kickback for the site. I think it just serves as a buffer, so that Bryce doesn't have to deal directly with the media.

no one has confirmed whether or not he has his own site, or if he simply has a profile inside a player database.

I don't think it is any different from Rivals/Scout, except it only deals with a limited group of prospects. Rivals/Scout are the same thing---you pay a premium to get insider information on regular updates.

no one's confirmed a web address for this, so I don't know.

you can scroll back and see he's graduated h.s. and on vacation. the longer this plays out, the better it is for the darkhorses, though. he's far less likely to ink with Miami/K-State/USC if this goes into March.

So, it's ok for scout and rivals to make money off of information about him, but it's not ok for him to make enough to operate the website and keep his life as normal as possible?

Looks like an "Outside the Lines" script in the making.... ala OJ Mayo.

Thank you. I could not, for the life of me, remember who it was who had the "mentor". I just remembered the story and knew it was just like this one.

Butler's more than just Brown's "trainer."

trainer/friend/mentor/confidant/teacher.

I don't care what label you give him, he's got both of his parents in his life and an older brother, I don't see it as an OJ Mayo scenario where someone outside the family is calling all the shots.

I also think Lane and company are smart enough to know that if Butler is trouble, they wouldn't be taking boosters' planes out to Wichita. They'd simply back off.

I think you are exactly right about his relationship with Butler. I think that alot of these guys rush to a commitment because they don't want to have to deal with the media hounding them every day.

Here we have the #1 player in the country backing out of his current commitment to look at other schools.

He can't hire an agent and his family may not have been able to hire a lawyer. So a life-long friend and mentor is helping them through a difficult process.

I don't see anything wrong with this.

The media would eat this kid alive without the help of Butler!!

here's an update---

When asked if anyone associated with the family had been compensated for exclusivity, here's what Brent Hubbs had to say----

"I have asked the same question and think it is a good one, but no one seems to know exactly how that thing is set up."

Even Hubbs doesn't know how the Bryce site is being managed and if anyone's been offered compensation.

I'm not sure that the link which was posted is the one everyone wants. That site was pretty amateurish and I can't confirm that's the one Bryce is working with.

This thread makes me feel like this is a guy who can turn UT's football program around :)

Multiple web pages say he can run a legitimate 4.45 or better and he had two TD catches in the Army game.

He has speed, the ability to avoid tacklers, and he could be lined up at WR for certain formations.
