Bryce Brown Announcement

you are wrong on this, he sat with the other recruits in the stands off to the far right for a good half hour . Bryce only exited the field when it started to rain. Even then he and a few recruits stood under an awning on the home side of the field. Bryce was still lurking on the field during the practice closing prayer.

I was on the right side and I noticed no recruits in the stands. It was not raining when he walked off the field according to the video I shot.

Will the new coach run the same offense?

Yes, in fact it is mostly Kelly's offense now. Before Crowton went to LSU, he was our first OC to implement the spread, and we didn't do so well. Then Crowton fled to LSU, got his NC, and is still there. In the meantime, we picked up Kelly, who coached DD from a 12 TD, 14 INT year into what you saw in 2007 before his ACL bust.

Kelly's the offensive genius behind Oregon's offense already.

I think what some of you are missing is that Oregon isn't even in second place in this thing. If we lose Bryce to anyone, it would be Miami.

Kelly taking over as HC for Oregon can't hurt Oregon's chances. He was BB lead recruiter and one of the main reasons why BB likes Oregon.

I don't even know what the offense really is. I always find myself staring at the uniforms:blink:

Sab, I've been reading your stuff for awhile, and although you're very intelligent and willing to take the time to try to ridicule your debate opponent into changing his/her tune, I think the shade of your glasses might be a little too orange.

And in recent history, Tennessee hasn't been all that much better than Oregon (which believe me, isn't necessarily bad...) since 1999, Oregon's win-loss record is 86-38, while UT's is 86-41... Not that much difference, and I doubt Bryce has been paying attention to college football for longer than 10 years...

 It's spread-option

They were there. In fact, they were pretty hard to miss in those matching orange parkas.

PAC 10 < SEC. There's an explanation.

I missed it for a sec, but I responded here

Gotcha. Hard to follow these threads on a blackberry... Anyhow, I wouldn't be surprised if he did choose Oregon. However, I do think him being here this weekend, albeit with out Butler and his parents, is a huge push late for UT. Personally, I wouldn't think we would stand a chance with any recruit that hasn't been "on campus" since late last year. But that is just me.

You're calling me a homer. That's rich.

I am going by what I have heard from different people close to the situation. It doesn't have anything to do with homerism. Anyone here can tell you I call 'em like I see 'em whether it favors UT or not. I didn't think we had a shot in hell with Bryce until his visit, and I still maintain that we really didn't.

Perhaps you should take off the green glasses and stop living in denial over the whole affair. If I were an Oregon fan, I would have given up following this by now.

Note: looks like I'm turning into Wheaton now... lol

That's highly debatable. I would mention looking at this most recent year's bowl outcomes, Pac-10 didn't lose... But I'm dropping this one, because there is WAY too much subjectivity involved in a debate like this, besides, this is a debate about Oregon v. Tennessee, not Pac-10 v. SEC.

Very true and I'll concede this point every time. Except the fact that it hasn't happened in the last 10 years, but you still have the trophy.

I agree with you completely except for your last two sentences. I think the amount of time we've been in contact with him is actually favorable.

Are you still talking? Where's that ignore function people are always talking about?

I have never been more confident in us getting a recruit then I am with BB. In addition to the fact that we've gotten all sorts of positive information DAYS ago, the guy came down here on his own dime, for the second time, and obviously wanted it to be a secret. Why else would you want it to be a secret?

Someone made a car reference earlier. I think he knows what car he's going to get. Now he's just trying to get financed.

I'm thinking wheaton has two PC's up and running today for his final BB push.

However, the likelihood that BB is reading internet posts this weekend is very, very low.

Too little, too late, perhaps. If you'd only done the two PC strategy earlier, you might have changed the trajectory of college football.

Oh well... nice try.

Have a good weekend! :)

I hope you are correct but I on the other hand have not been so unconfident in signing a recruit. Bryce has been the most fickle flip flopper I have seen in a while, in any sort of sport, politics, etc. I have no idea what he is thinking or what the method of his madness is. That being said, I hope the speculation is right and he signs on Monday.

Are you a UT fan or just the rare case of a Bama fan that isn't obnoxious?
