Bryce Brown: A Lesson in Pride

There is 'what' Kiffin did...sent in Lacey....aka "The Closer".

At least Bryce made $1.5 million. Sadly, the greatest of all Vols running backs, Chuck Webb, blew out his knee in Neyland and never made a dime of NFL money.

Webb was drafted by the packers. I assume he made some money. Not a lot though.

I'll never forget hearing his Dad being interviewed on the radio. The poor kid never had a chance and I don't want to know what Kiffin pulled to get him here in the first place.

I agree. I do not want to know what Kiffin did to get him Knoxville. Well, not going to lie, I am a little curious.

On October 27, 2015, Brown signed with the Seattle Seahawks. On November 21, 2015, he was waived.

Had he played it straight at UT, he'd have come out after his 3rd year in the 1st or 2nd round with a fat contract to set him up for life.

Instead, he came out as a free agent, had undeveloped skills, and now must get a job.

A word to the wise: Game the system at your peril.

He's earned around 1.6 million in 4 years.

I think he'll be ok.

I really don't see the point of this thread. He made a choice. We've all made or will make decisions that will impact our future. Sometimes it works out, other times it doesn't. You have to live with the consequences. Hindsight 101.

Hopefully people learn from the past...

He was always a pre Madonna , and you all are making his dad an escape goat for Bryce's own lack of pocket presents., and the fact that he didn't stay in school long enough to be the valid validictorian.

Haha it took me about 3 mistakes to catch on. Once I saw the username I said no way this is legit. Pocket presents gave it away.

Brown had 500 yards? What? Really? Wow. I remember all of his runs going for one single yard. Must of had 500 carries haha

How did he game the system? He transferred and played for another school.

Not allowed. You're an indentured servant to the program that recruited you, even after the coach leaves.

Unless the school brings in too many players. Then they can just drop you. Fairness at its best.

I really wish Bryce hadn't let outside influences get to him. I see he and his wife in the gym during the NFL off season. Seems like a soft spoken, nice guy.

Actually no. TR was like a bowling ball, he just ran over people. I also think he won the Heisman. No comparison.Case closed...

He's also arguably the worst RB in NFL history. When the Seahawks signed Brown as mentioned in the OP, Richardson was available on the waiver wire as he's been all season long and Seattle passed. Case back open.

Also, he didn't win the Heisman.

This is like a movie script

In the beginning the old man sought to give others a lesson on pride. However in the end it was he who learned the most

Remember, I'm old, wise and a VFL.

I must admit, I do like the anonymous internet self-declaration thing. So, for what it's worth:

I'm devastatingly handsome with a genius-level IQ and a net worth that could stop a famine. Also, I'm hung like a bull elephant with a gland condition and regularly go well past four hours and never see a doctor about it. I'm an accomplished artist, author and musician, and when I wear glasses it's for style, not correction.

Just so y'all know who you're dealing with here.
