That's obviously fake. As we know from all the mental giants on this board, Billy Gillispie is the only coach in America who drinks and Bruce can do no wrong. That's probably Holy Water in that cup.

BCG continues to underachieve and you continue to defend him. At least you are going down with the ship on this one. :clapping:

Want to wager on which one of those two coaches are still with their current employer at the start of the '11-'12 season?

If Pearl left for a better job, how would that prove anything?

Fine, if he leaves for North Carolina, Duke, UCLA, Kansas, or the NBA, you win. Otherwise, he'll be leaving for a job worse than the one Billy Clyde will have, and I win. Fair enough?

No, not really. Unless you consider Tennessee's basketball prestige at #6 nationally.

Leaving for a better job is not the same as leaving for a job better than Kentucky. There's quite a difference between the stature of the two programs.

I can't understand why you continue to defend Gillespie? Do you think he's done a good job? I also don't understand why you are unable to debate him on his own merits without having to bring Pearl into every discussion.

I thought finishing 12-4 in the SEC with the dreck he had last year was a very good job. Did he do a good job this year? Not particularly. I defend him because he plays a style of basketball that wins over the long haul, as opposed to a trashy ratball system that nobody has ever won anything of significance with without tweaking it beyond recognition.

It's been a long time since I brought up the fact that, despite an otherwise poor performance, Billy Clyde outcoached Pearl so badly this year that his bronzer began to run.

Lol. So you stick up for him as a great coach (despite the fact that he doesn't seem to be winning) because you approve of his style more...

Kentucky's SEC record last year was certainly more impressive than their season as a whole.

I believe Pearl did an adequate job this season with a team that was unable to dictate tempo. He was forced to play a style of basketball that he doesn't prefer.. thus proving he's not married to a specific style (good or bad, I don't know). The true measure will be how he evolves as a coach moving forward.

Yeah, that's just a crazy reason. I should have been on the Mike Leach bandwagon. Gimmicky trash wins big so often. Look at all the championships Pearl's boss won. Then, compare that to the guy Billy Clyde cut his teeth working with.

Well, at least Otis, sorry, I meant BCG had something to hang his hat on this season.. out coaching a snake oil salesman. I guess you would argue that isn't much of an accomplishment though, right?

Because boss analogies always work. That's why Buzz was so successful.

Hey, and he managed to lose 8 out of the last 11 SEC games. Nice job!
