I just really don't understand the UTAD. Bruce Pearl is like a panacea for the MBB program.

-INSTANT increase in season ticket sales
-We'll win again
-Fans will stop complaining
-Hart will be viewed as the best AD of all time in some fans eyes if he can have Pearl and Jones both be successful.

It's baffling that they don't at least call him. Grudges can ruin careers.

Oh good lord. Not my limited thinking...I can think of plenty of coaches who can do that. But within reason of coaches we would hire. Yes, Bruce is the only one that could accomplish an elite 8 and being ranked #1. Simple and plain. And to your above post. There's no reason to over complicate it. It would be simple to hire Bruce. Pay for his buyout and a new contract, ignore the naysayers, and give in to the majority and what's best for the program.

We get it. We really do. (I really do). But when discussing coaches we want, I'll cry for Bruce til someone else is hired. Then I'll complain about him and say Bruce would do better.

Honest question though..Would I be better off to direct my attention to firing Cheek and Hart to bring back Bruce? Bc I'll jump on the Lady Vol name change angry bandwagon if so and call for them both.

If his son sticks around, he's definitely staying at Georgia State next year. But I've never been convinced he wants to coach at a bigger school.

From what I have heard Bruce lied to members of the UT Board and also to some big donors about what he did. They don't want him back at Tennessee because of that. It has been said that Ray Mears will be back before Bruce if that tells you anything.

Interest in Barnes, Holtmann, Wojo, Underwood and Bryce Drew. those have been contacted to determine if interested. Pitino has called UT to express interest

I should have included that he also was working to cover it up... that was probably more major than the lie

it is really foolish for people to continue to bring Bruce up. I would love for him to be here coaching but the fact is it will never happen.

The president, the chancellor, the AD and Pilot Oil have to ALL be long gone from Tennessee for it to be able to happen.

I spent 3 weeks at Benning for Airborne school. Columbus was about the worst place I've ever been or seen. Thankfully I can't imagine ever having a reason to go back.

doesn't matter if they are gone. As long as Pilot Oil is the major player wit UT, he will no be here.. Can you bankrupt Pilot?

this is true, they offered to do everything possible to help him and he then lied to them.. no way they could ever trust him again
