Heard the same thing last hire and the one before that, just move on from BBB is all I'm saying, it's a waist of energy cause it's not happening. if some how this one time they spend money on bball coach great, but it will be the first time ever.

Meh, I grew up in AL. Nice campus but saying that AU is as nice a place to live as East TN is pure BS. I have the facts, I have the experience of having been through that hot ass humid place a ton. The redeeming thing to do after a football win was to roll the trees at Toomer's. Now that gone so what is there?

Ron Hunter has had other chances to move up from the mid-major ranks and hasn't done it. He was the coach at IUPUI for many years, took them from the NAIA into D-1 and then into the tournament, and had chances to move up at that time and didn't do it. I was surprised when he finally left and moved to another mid-major a few years back.

If his son sticks around, he's definitely staying at Georgia State next year. But I've never been convinced he wants to coach at a bigger school.

Agreed. It was through fraud and deception that he became the most successful basketball coach in school history.

He is a top-2 UT coach, but evidently not a great coach on the grand scale. If he were truly a great coach, he would still be coaching here because:
A) He wouldn't have had the BBQ
B) He would have said "Yep, the photograph was taken at my house. You caught me. I take responsibility," if he would have had the BBQ.
C) He wouldn't even need to commit infractions to recruit (granted, theory vs. application doesn't work well on this point)

Bruce tells UT that he will work for free for two years.
UT pays Auburn the five million dollar buyout.
In year three, Bruce gets a five year guaranteed three million dollar per year contract.
Bruce suddenly becomes one of the most popular coaches in America when he explains that he wants to show, not just tell, UT how sorry he still is for the show cause.
Never happen, of course.
But, just imagine if it did.

Bruce Pearl is an excellent basketball coach. He is not an ethical person, in any sense of the word ethics. Auburn is where he belongs.
