Brian Maurer throwing shade on twitter

I wonder if Bama, tOSU, Clemson, thinks that way. Well that’s not fair, tOSU doesn’t, this I know for a fact, and after 15 years in SC, i can assure you that Clemson doesn’t feel that way either. They are committed to putting the best product they can on the field. There are a lot of rea$on$ for this approach, and it works.
You just have no logic. If you think a kid that’s been a great teammate and never broken the law should be dismissed off of a 2-6 football team for defending his teammates? Maybe he’s not the problem at all. Maybe it’s fans like you that are obviously less bothered at what going on than they are.

Guarantee if we added up our money spent on tickets, concessions, parking, merchandise, clothing, cable subscriptions, internet, and all of the other things we have purchased to support our Vols, we would have spent more than he's ever made in his life. This is a kid though. Who has obvious issues. I'll give him a break and just laugh.

Look, the kid should not have said it the way he did. In the World we live in you need to be very precise with your words or it can ruin your life. I do believe he had his head in the right place in defending his teammates. Have we all not done some crap that we regret, or said something we did not think all the way through? All this is stemming from the fact that we have a dysfunctional product on the field, and we all (players and fans alike) care deeply for this special shade of orange. Tennessee is so special because of the fiercely loyal fans, and few places can have players on a losing team be propped up like a god, such as JJ, or Eric Berry was. What players need to realize though is that respect is not just given it does need to be earned, and what fans need to realize is that disrespect is not deserved yet we so readily give it.

Boy, I guess these kids think those stadiums, workout rooms, tudors to do their school work for them, etc are grown from the ground?

Is the Tudors or Stuarts doing the school work? I never can remember, but isn't it great that royalty will "volunteer" for such a thing.

Pruitt or not if he could pass why wouldn’t call a pass play? Even Florida new he was going to run...
This is the same man that thinks a qb is no different than a LB. He’s proven over and over he knows NOTHING about offense as a whole yet still talks with such confidence in his opinions. He’s had a qb room 75% full of elite 11 qbs for two years now and can’t find a qb. 4 years into his rein and he has yet to produce a qb. But somehow some still think he KNOWS who his best qb is? Naw man.... I ain’t buyin it.

Didn’t say he did but you can certainly buy Bailey being out there is because he felt he had no choice. He still controlled things by grouting Maurer out there. Pruitt aside Bailey Is head and shoulders above him right now.

Good grief, cut the kid some slack.. We can get on the internet and voice our displeasure but he can't?

I don’t see it. JTS has been buried on the depth chart all year long. In fact three years now. He was better than Bailey in two drives than Bailey was the entire game (yes I’m taking the defense into consideration). Bailey himself was third on the DC all season long before last week. Pruitt has avoided giving anyone else a legitimate chance for two years now. One thing is clear is BOTH were better than JG. When were talking about a man that is THAT INCOMPETENT at his job and the better qbs have been hidden, who’s to say the best one isn’t the one we’ve seen the least of?

So you think College Football Survives if everyone has Vandy's fan support? Would Vandy's football program stand without shared revenue?

Valid point, and I don't know the answer to that question. Their alumni make quite a bit of money, so financially, they may be ok.

Unless you believe in free speech for those you despise, then you don't believe in free speech. I think the quote is pretty close. Let the players speak. They ARE the ones playing the game.

Brian Maurer needs to STFU and figure out why he's third on the depth chart. Throwing shade at fans isn't going to get him on the field any faster. I hope he puts in the work after he ends up transferring to a team like WKU.

I'll be supporting the Vols long after he is gone.

Because the coaches got him nearly killed.
He was the best talent option on the roster. The only real RPO option. Forced into action early and multiple concussions. I have a niece who was a lock to play college soccer who had to give it up due to post concussion syndrome. This has led to other issues including depression.

He should sue the university for what he’s been through.

Where have you been? Is it not clear to you yet that the best qbs under Pruitt are #s 2-4 in no particular order? So there you go. I’m sure he’s figured out WHY he’s third and you should too.

Who’s to say he doesn’t/hasn’t put the work in here? Who’s to say he’s NOT the best qb on this roster? Pruitt? 🤔

Maurer did not post on twitter what he was reported to have posted. Has to be an imposter. Everyone knows that recruits and /or players are not affected by social media or so I've been told by countless posters here.

I'm sorry to hear about your niece.

With that said, Maurer signed up to play football for an SEC school. He plays a reckless, athletic band of football and he knows he's going to take hits. Most of the big shots he took were out of the pocket trying to freestyle. That's not on the coaches, IMO. I'm sure the concussions affected him but he never changed his style even after the first one.

Why exactly should be sue the university again? That's just nonsense.

So you have no problem with him being on the field last year after two concussions??
