The truth is it probably IS happening but some reports say if he’s hired after December 4th or 5th it saves a million on the buyout and Hyams will prob cost us that or him as a coach now

There is literally no way on this earth that we wait until December 4th or 5th unless it is bc Currie is fired and we have someone new as AD.

Hyams sticking by his guns and saying this is still happening is like a doomsayers saying the world will end on one day then giving a different date after the original day passed. He's going to claim to be right up until it either happens or doesn't. He doesn't know **** though, and is blind shooting.

Hyams says he's sticking to his report that it's happening. So, in short, we still don't know s#*t!

Hyams sticking to his report that Jimmy Haslam called him and told him he's going to ram the Brohm hire through and every other booster and fan can kiss his rear end.

If Currie fails this time, his ass should be fired by midnight tonight. No excuses.

Hopefully this is a done deal, and Brohm isn't wanting anything released until he can tell his players. He seems to be that type of guy.

As much as I want Brohm does anyone else feel at ease if it fails bc the chances of getting rid of the Haslems and Currie get higher?

Exactly. There's always a report it's happening, then people saying nothing official, then it happens.

if Brohm backs out/this falls through, then Currie needs to follow this deal out of the door.

Currie is not going anywhere which is the problem. No one wants him here except the higher ups that make all the terrible decisions.

Have to think Brohm's agent is talking to Purdue's AD, at the very least to increase his client's bargaining position with UT.

(1) I assume Brohm's ultimate goal is to go back to Louisville when Petrino leaves so the agent is probably trying to get Brohm's part of the buyout removed.

(2) Purdue "loaned" him the $900K for the WKU buyout while agreeing to forgive 150K a year. Have to assume that figure is completely forgiven.

(3) Brohm's maximum is supposed to be $3.3 million per year. From how I read his contract, Brohm's base is only $1.5m, however. Some of the incentives are easily reachable such as the academic requirements. Others are laughable (e.g., $600K if they reach the CFP).

Brohm doesnt have an agent.

The Haslams and Currie are cancers to this program. TBQF, I wouldn't blame a single damn coach for not wanting to come here.

Someone needs to call Sportstalk today and ask Hyams if there is any truth to the rumor that Brohm is gonna be wearing a black jersey when he is announced.

Hate to respond to my own post but people have to be screaming "How doesn't Brohm already have maximum bargaining power at this point?" My guess is that UT isn't offering him the same deal they offered to Gundy. While I don't think Brohm is going to get that sum, his agent has to be trying to get as much leverage as possible. A $4 or $5 million buyout plus the loan from Purdue for his WKU buyout certainly encourages him to do that.

At the same time, his agent has to be trying to insure that any deal with Purdue is better than his current deal, which doesn't seem that great to me.
