Breaking Bad on amc

I think Walt is coming back to get rid of them for the business they make. Why else would he need so much ****?

The Ricin is of course for himself in true Greek Tragedy style

Wouldn't the ricin make you incredibly miserable and sick for a few days before dying? Walt is smarter than to do that to himself if he wanted to commit suicide. I don't see Walt killing himself anyways. This show is impossible to predict though.

Ricin for a normal healthy person will kill you in 3-5 days usually for an average doseage of 20 mcg. If you took more than that, it would be faster, and someone with bad health like Walt would go faster as well. I wouldn't be shocked to see a person of walt's age and condition, taking far more than normal doseage, dying in a few hours if he made a truly potent batch of it.

of course since what ricin does is stop cell production, it's kind of hard to tell what it would do.

Todd is great.

He's becoming one of my favorite characters to follow this season. It's hard to describe. He's respectful and courteous to those around him while he's still a criminal. He doesn't act like every other meth thug on the show.

Honestly I bet he was this kid when he was little:

Something about Todd makes me not like him. I think he is a deceiving character, and will end up getting Walt in trouble. I am still rooting for Walt 100%, and want to see him live. But Todd could hinder that.

Let me get this straight, you hate Walt because he killed Mike because Mike hurt his feelings, but you think a guy that shot a kid is great?

I like Todd the character as well. I think the best way to explain it is in a Wrestling format.

The Rock was a heel, he made fun of people, he was a bully, but people still loved him.

Todd, so far, has no real redeeming qualities. He seems to be borderline ignorant, but smart enough to copy a genius in Walt. He has a child like thought process with everything he does, down to killing the kid "Because those were orders." and he shows extreme signs of being a sociopath because I think even Walt feels bad about the kid.

We can at least rationalize that Walt really did do all this for his family. Todd just does it for the money/power, and it makes a great character that you can love to hate.

Great as in interesting. Todd's character, as Daloth mentioned, is unique to me. Him walking Lydia through the pile of dead bodies says just as much as him killing the kid.

Although Daloth, I really do question whether Walt truly feels bad about Todd killing the kid. Whatever episode it was he told Jesse he felt horrible, the began whistling as if he didn't have a care in the world when he started a cook. That's the last time Jesse was involved with a cook. The next time he saw Walt he told him he was out.

My gut feeling is Walt, at this point, views Todd killing the kid as necessary, but didn't want to admit it in front of Jesse and Mike.

Don't get me wrong I liked Mike a lot and hate how he got killed off...but don't forget he did try kill Walt once. Walt thought Mike and his men were a harm to him, so he dealt with it. I'm not a huge fan of this new Walt though.

He's not Walt anymore. He is full on Heisenberg. Walt died when he poisoned Brock imo. That was the final nail in the coffin for Walt's family man persona.

Ok I'm going to start off by saying this is my all time favorite show. I went on a 2 week Netflix binge and watched every season and I'm finally caught up. The only thing I don't like is hiw Skylar and Walts relationship turned out. She went from clingy annoying wife too a shelless annoying wife. I'm just not a fan of her or her sister. Not a huge fan of how Walts character progressed into such a dark character. I enjoyed Walt before he killed Gus. Now visa versa I didn't like Jesse at first when he was all strung out on drugs and was a wannabe, but now he has turned into my favorite character. I love his "yo, b***h" lol. I've always like Hank and Saul. Hanks always has something clever to say. And Saul always has a "guy" for anything lol.

I don't think Walt feels bad about killing the kid at all. I don't think he actually would have done it himself, but he's also not upset that Todd was there to do it.

At this point, Walt only cares about his family and especially himself. That's it.

I understand not liking the way Walt's character has developed, but that is the beauty of this show. Every action that has taken place has a lingering consequence. You don't just become a drug lord and still maintain your happy go lucky persona. Breaking Bad is really unlike any show I've ever seen in that way. Most TV shows would have had their main character remain static, or would find ways to justify his bad actions so that the character could still be the hero/good guy. Dexter comes to mind. Not this show. Walt started out with somewhat noble intentions, and now he and his family are suffering the consequences of bad means. Love it.

Sounds to me like the writers have done their job then.

I'm not saying that the writing sucks or the show sucks. I think it's the best show ever. Just simply saying that I don't like Walt as much as I did. He has turned everyone in his life against him except Walt Jr and of course his daughter and once/if they find out what all he has done, they will do the same. It's excellent writing. But I just don't like the person he has became. But if he didn't become Heisenberg the show wouldn't have been as good, I get that. I'm just wondering what is going to happen next. Jesse obviously doesn't burn the house down because at the very beginning of the season they show Walt coming back to the house months later. So I'm wondering what happens?

This is gonna sound weird, but I wonder if this is our modern day equivalent of whenever Hamlet first debuted in England? Plays and stories used to be about the main character going through the adventure and getting to the end, usually with very little change, and that's that. Then, Hamlet comes along and you get to see him change from act to act, even scene to scene sometimes, based on his pretending to be crazy (or his real craziness getting worse) to seek revenge for his father. It was the first real example of the story going through the character and not the other way around. I feel like this is how Breaking Bad is. The story goes through Walt, not Walt through the story.

Well said. I concur.

That's kinda the point, though. The whole story arc of breaking bad revolves around Walt becoming the villain.

The show is called Breaking Bad...not Breaking Good. I knew he was going to turn into the villain, all I'm saying is I don't really root for him as much as I did and it's kind of a toss up 50/50 if I want him to "win".

And yet most people who watch the show still want him to "win", whatever that will end up meaning in this show.

Probably just left over feelings from around season 1 and 2, back when Walt was a simple school teacher that life had dealt a bad hand.
