"Boosting methlamine from a train is like a...major rap. So point is, no one...other than us can ever know that this robbery went down...nobody, you got it?" - Jesse to Todd
Ironic. Great writing.
Todd was just doing as he was told.
If you watch the "inside the episode" on amctv.com Aaron Paul says, "Jesse does NOT like that. The next episode SH*T hits the fan."
I mean from a strictly business standpoint it was probably the right move. I couldn't have done it though.
I don't think so, necessarily. It's likely the kid had no idea any foul play was going on.
I just assumed they were planning to leave the tanks buried there and come out there to get their methylamine. Can't leave them there now. The cops will be looking for freshly excavated soil.
No chance of that now. Parents call the cops about missing child. Will say he was riding out looking for spiders. Cops go on the search. Not only do they have to hide a body, move the tanks, but they're also on a timeframe. How long before people/police come looking for the missing kid.
I've been kinda torn on the ending. At first I really liked then the more I thought about it I kinda thought it was kinda stupid. My biggest issue was that Walt has spent 5 seasons lying to people and has basically become a master manipulator but he can't come up with something to tell a kid to get him to leave. It's not like the kid even knew what was going on.
But now I think that during the entire show Walt has been ultra careful but he let someone in that he didnt really know or trust and it had horrific results. Walt, Jesse, and Mike would not have done that but they slipped up and now have a bigger problem to deal with.
Something else to think about. The movie Heat was mentioned by Hank. A movie about bank robbers that add a new guy to their group and he turns out to be a loose cannon and ultimately brings them down.
but why would they look in that spot? Toss the kid in the empty water tank (and add whatever chemical they've used before to dissolve a person), get rid of his bike and move on. No one is going to just start digging in some random spot in the desert
I think the gun got pulled and fired a little too quickly for Walt to say anything, or process what to do. I mean, as soon as I thought "Okaaaay, what's gonna happen no-" boom, kid's dead. Dude was only doing exactly what he was told.I've been kinda torn on the ending. At first I really liked then the more I thought about it I kinda thought it was kinda stupid. It's not that they would look in that one spot, just that they'd do a search of the general area all around and may stumble across it. And it's not about finding the kid. It's about finding out about their operation. Finding a tank of water or methylamine under the one bridge in the middle of the desert is going to generate questions.
