Breaking Bad on amc

So my friends and I debated this, but do you think in hindsight Walt would do it all over again, if faced with the original decision to cook meth?

Yes he would. When he found out he had cancer, the one thing he craved more than anything was control. He wanted a say in his own life for once. Heisenberg was the manifestation of that desire. He absolutely would do it again knowing the outcome.

And it was rude of me, but I didn't mention that I'm sorry she had to go through that. And you. I know it isn't easy for either of you. Sorry bout that :hi:

Thanks. Yeah, it wasn't fun, but we learned a lot about ourselves and our relationship. We had only been married 2 years, and probably had some growing up to do. She's 3 years cancer-free in November and running her 3rd marathon on Saturday.

Congrats to her. Hope her ordeal is over forever.

Walt made a mistake telling Lydia he poisoned her. She could still go to the hospital and live. Ricin is less lethal when ingested rather than inhaled or injected.

Depends on how far along she is. I'm no expert, but can imagine he wouldn't have told her if he didn't think she was done for.

It all happened in the same day right? So at most it was 12 hours of exposure before he called her.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the finale and think it was a great ending for the show.

You have a point, but again I am no expert at the effectiveness of the ricin dosage. It was supposed to kill of gus pretty quickly. This show still left things unanswered, but all in all tied things up pretty well.

Still feel out of pure selfishness, they could have stretched it another season without any drop off in quality. Still seemed a little rushed to a point.

I will say the music choices were perfect throughout the entire series. Wish the best and look forward to anything Gilligan does in the future, but this will probably be the benchmark and incredibly difficult to top.

Wouldn't she kind of be screwed anyway though? If she shows up at the hospital saying she was poisoned by Ricin, that's going to get the authorities involved. She's so nervous and panicky that I can see her cracking easily.

I mean you can't just show up at the hospital poisoned by Ricin and not expect some questions to be asked.

So you'd chose to die over possibly getting into trouble? There is about 100 different ways she could spin the explanation.

I thought the scene at the beginning with the couple (from Grey Matter?) started off really strongly. All creepy, him walking around their place while they casually chat.

But the notion he would just give them $3 million to in a year "gift," or "donate" to his family (even with the lasers) was a little hard to buy into. As though they could just give that to the family of the drug kingpin in a year and no one would notice.

And unfortunately, to me anyway, that question of how he would get that much money to them was such a focal point of the show that i found that resolution of the issue to be rather weak.

She might choose death, she wasn't exactly normal.

She could explain it, but again, she would be asked by authorities and as I said, she isn't exactly cool under pressure. She basically flipped out any time pressure was applied,

You think people are scrutinize a very wealthy couple giving the children of their former partner basically a donation that's a drop in the bucket for them?

It was $9 million. And they have been donating millions in charity to victims of drug abuse for a year by this point. Who is a bigger victim of the drug industry than Walt Jr? I agree it was a stretch, but I'm not sure we were supposed to buy in 100%. It was more or less just Walt's last ditch effort to leave a legacy (blood stained though it may be) to his family. Whether it works or not, we weren't meant to know, imo.

Yeah, even if the hospitals knew, it would be far too late to do anything but make her feel less pain from it all. No cure IIRC.

It was never explained why Walt was not a part of Grey Matter. It appeared like he was in love with the lady co-founder. I think when he told them this was their chance to make things right, it made it look to me like Walt was forced out. Maybe because she was with the other guy, but having an affair with Walt?

I forget which episode but he says that he chose love over the company. He was married to Skylar already and she was pregnant with Walt Jr. It's never fully explained.

Edit: he wasn't the other man he was involved with Gretchen before the current husband.
