Bray Should Have Been put in at the end Of the 3rd Quarter!

Bray showed he can get rattled. Simms showed he can't hit the broad side of a barn. Aim isn't going to get better but Bray's nerves can. I think we throw him in after the FLorida game and just let him have this season as a learning lesson.

His confidence will be tested every game, he is an SEC QB.

The opposite of killing his confidence is building it up. At some point his mentality will be forged in fire.

I think that is likely to happen against a team that isn't going to be ranked in the top 25. A lot of people have been saying Simms is going to fall on our sword this year, and if he can't get it together then you have to assume Bray will start. I've been less than impressed with our QBs so far, but the difference is one has time to learn and if killing a season helps us on the road to recovery then fine.

Simms has lead in his feet. He does not do his linemen any justice by standing still and looking at who he's going to throw to until HE feels like it's time to throw the ball. His short game sucks and his long game is even worse. No slants, no quick passes, no nothing. The O line did an outstanding job IMO and this will pay dividends when someone gets behind them with some talent. End of Rant, still my team.

Simms should have come out the game, he simply quit in the third quarter. I mean you could see him on the sidelines on cloud nine.

I don't if Bray would be good or not. But you can't leave a QB in the game that off in never never land.

I have heard for months about Simms arm... I was at the Orange and White game and I saw first hand Brays arm. I do not give a big harry rats bottom about what the media says about Simms arm. Now can Simms "mind" lose or win the game, yes.

But if his mind was at 100 % tonight then bring on bray. I will take his laser throwing mistakes over waffle passing anyday.

Simms will get better. Crompton couldnt hit the broad side of a barn this time last year. If I remember correctly he threw 5 INTs vs UCLA. This is only simms 2nd sec start. We will run out of QB's real quick if we toss them out after 2 games.

His demeanor is a little spacy. Could be a good quality but I just cant tell with this kid.

Kids a pot head. Come on. Let's not avoid the elephant in the room. And Crompton only got better because Kiffin shrank his reads to half the field. I don't want Crompton 2.0. I'd rather have a seasoned Bray who starts game 1 next year with about 9 games under his belt working with Hunter and Rogers and Oku and they're all on the same page.

I think you nailed it. I have been ignoring that factoid. Basically you said what I was trying to figure out.

Good lord, where oh where have I heard this before? You guys, it's going to be a long season. Get over it. Simms is the QB, and that's probably not going to change. And Bray is not an upgrade at this point. We don't have a savior on this team at the QB position. Our best bet is to get the players we have ON THE FIELD better and more ready to play and let them continue to improve.

He's not an upgrade. He's the future. Start him after the FL game when the schedule gets easier so he can get some wins under his belt. H'es had 3/4 of a season to get a system down with Hunter and Rogers and OKU. And next year we are leaps and bounds ahead of schedule. Simms won't be the QB next year. Nobody believes that. So why wait? His redshirt is gone.

Well said. Simms played well for the first half. I can't believe people are so fair-weathered that they are trying to get rid of him already.

Hunter made a 2009 Madden catch. You know the type. We're the ball is like 15 yards over the WR's head and somehow it lands in his hands and he makes the grab and the guy you're playing against calls BS. Hunter made an amazing, BS catch that made Simms look good. That's it. Hunter is amazing. Simms is not.

If florida wins big (which I don't think they will) Bray should start against UAB

We don't have a QB. Simms is Crompton. Maybe we can win a game against one decent opponent if we simplify the offense to a few plays like they did for Crompton - we won one against Ga. Still a sad situation that I hate to see repeated two years in a row. Bray might be twice as bad, who knows? I do think Simms won't play next near.

All you folks have seen freshmen QBs look bad coming out of HS. I don't think I have seen one worse with Simms' experience. Have you guys? Maybe he, like Crompton, can only concentrate for about 20 seconds at a time.

We don't have a QB.

Back from the game. Simms is not the answer. He threw off the mark or hard to catch bullets to our guys, and lobbed creampuffs to the ducks. Looks like we realy dont have a QB. We need a major league QB in the 11' recruiting class. Bray needs to develop fast, or it is going to be some time before UT becomes UT again.

Had time to think on it some more and get some rest. I have taken all the counter-points into consideration and I still think we should have seen Bray at the end of the 3rd. Just sayin.
