Bracketology Update

does Geno have on makeup? Anyway Conn up by like 40 at the half. pathetic. They should be embarrassed winning in a sorry conference every yr.

Agree - pathetic. This game is ridiculous. Geno grinning like a **** eating dog and his team up by 49 points.

Katie Lou is 10-10 from 3 point range, and it's only the 3rd quarter.

I think UConn's winning margins extends way beyond playing in a weak conference. Temple and USF could beat any of the SEC teams not named SC or MSU.

I will have to disagree with you on USF or Temple beating a team like TAMU or even a Ga . Our beloved UT would beat them on their Dr. Jekyll nights.

Okay so you're saying they play in a weak conference but any of the teams they play could beat most any SEC team?

Or are you saying this team they are playing right now (USF) and Temple could beat any SEC team
but SC and MSU?

Just making sure I understand what you're saying. This game looks terrible unevenly matched, but you've watched way more BB than I have, so you would know. This is pitiful!

Im convinced Uconn is on some kinda of mental superpower steriod. Never seen a almost flawless team play like this. The ref seem to have lost their whistles. no one has been to the foul line in this game.

As a whole, the conference is pretty weak, but Temple and South Florida (who are the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams in the conference) are as good as any of the SEC teams outside of SC and MSU. Both of them have been hovering in or around the top 25 all season. They aren't bad teams at all, but UConn is making them look pitiful...largely because UConn is shooting 70% from the floor and a good portion of those are long balls. If a team is shooting like that, they will make any team look bad.

This is vs USF who is 26th in today's AP Poll. It's not Tulsa... calm down. When you are the best you don't apologize for anything. When they start letting teams pick what conference they want to be in then I am with you. Until then you take on all comers and do what you have to do to prepare yourself for an NCAA title. All other conversation about the conference is pointless because they don't have the power to change it. Furthermore any coach who sits around telling their players not to worry because they are in the SEC, AAC, B12 or otherwise are fooling themselves.

USF already beat Georgia this year 81-65.... When you watch a UConn game you have to keep in mind they can make teams that aren't horrible look atrocious. They are by no means perfect even with winning 106 in a row but sometimes when they are on like tonight it seems like they are.

Gotcha. Thanks!

I have no doubt that Tennessee would win, and win big, on their Dr. Jekyl nights. But both teams could very well beat Tennessee on their Mr. Hyde nights.

Just peeking at some of the other AAC teams results this year

#5 SMU beat TAMU
#6 Tulane beat Auburn

The teams at the bottom are pitiful, though.

UConn only beat USF by 56 tonight. In their last game against Mississippi State, UConn won by 60.

This Pac12 championship is hard to watch. How can a 2 seed OSU only manage 38pts with 4 mins left in the game?

I watched that game and thought OSU got the short end of the stick from the refs. It was a physical game, not at all like PAC-12 games from the past. There was no fluidity of motion. It was more like an SEC game to be honest.

Anyway, Stanford was called for 9 fouls the entire game while OSU was called for 16. Stanford scored 13 points from the foul line and OSU only 7. That was the difference.

After watching Stanford's Erica McCall shove an OSU player out of bounds right in front of the ref with no call late in the game, I knew it was over for OSU.

Ummm Uconn could have beat that team by 80 if they wanted to. They sat their starters after the 3rd qtr.

Sort of like Arkansas and Vandy?

The AAC's record against the SEC is pretty good.

And it was only a couple weeks ago that Tulane gave UConn a pretty good scare, losing by three.

Most conferences have one or two teams that dominate. The SEC, ACC, Big Ten and Big 12 Tourneys have all been won by the same team for the last three years. Of course UConn dominates their conference, heck, they dominate all of WCBB.

Ok i can agree that the AAC is not terrible and Conn is just too good for any conference right now. But I would say a ACC or a Big12 would be hard to prepare for night in and night out. Id just like to see them compete in a tougher conference with the non conference teams they schedule every yr. I think it would be a tougher grind. Sure they would still dominate but it would be as easy imo.

UConn had a run where they beat DePaul, Texas, ND, KSU, and OSU in a row. That's the BE Champ, Big 12 #2, ACC Champ, Big 12 #3 and Big 10 #1, and all of them were by double digits. The only game that was remotely close was an 11 point win at Notre Dame.

Do you think that there's any difference between having to play LSU, Alabama, Florida, Vandy, Arkansas, Missouri and TAMU vs. SMU, Tulane, ECU, and UCF? If they were in the SEC, they would be unbeaten because they are that much better than everyone else.

The only tough schedule would be a continuation of their pre-conference schedule where they are playing a one of the top teams from each major conference...and even then, they still might be undefeated.

We will never know but i think the coaches of those SEC teams are better and the other teams doesnt have a Ronnie Williams, a Sofie Cunningham or slightly better talent to give them a challenge. I might be way off base but hey i like to debate possiblities.

and #2 Baylor is getting their butts kicked in the Big 12 Final. Looks like UConn will have little resistance to a five-peat.....

Ah, I see the narrative has changed a bit over the years after predicting UCONN would waste away in such a lousy conf. because of poor competition. Well they were just in the toughest conference, only 4 years ago, that sent 3 teams to the f4 in it's last year b4 the big shuffle. So that whole grind excuse is just that. The ACC is practically the old Big East, well the top teams are, and I remember them doing well against them. West Virginia, whose currently playing Baylor for B12 championship as well.
