OSU = Oregon State. Were you thinking Ohio State?

IDT the LVs will drop to an 8 seed. They were probably going to be seeded 5-7, no matter how the SECT played out.

Yes, I was thinking Ohio State. I agree that they should beat Oregon State. That's probably the only #2 I'd like their chances against.

I think the seeding depends on what other teams do. IMO they should be penalized for losing in the conference tourney to a non NCAAT team.

Thought that might be the case. I realized that OSU could be misleading and edited my post. Oregon State is the #2 draw I'd pick for the LVs-- the other 2 seeds will be harder to beat.

The LVs could drop to an 8 seed, but I think SOS, RPI and big wins against top seeds will give them the benefit of the doubt. But they could lose to any team in R1. They are the most inconsistent, unpredictable team I can remember.

Cream said we dropped to a 7 seed....that is good news because if we play the better teams, we may just win it all. It's the lower seeds we have to worry about

Latest projection still has us as a #7 but back in UConn's bracket. First round matchup with West Virginia (potentially interesting matchup for Coach Reeves) followed by having to play Maryland on their home court.

Do people realize this is not the NCAA bracket with daily changes? This is only one sports reporter's wildest guess (which has nothing to do with reality). Charlie Crème is not in any way associated with the NCAA selection committee. His projections are not necessarily any more accurate than those that you or I could put together.

Of course people realize all of this. We're just posting the latest info as a point of discussion. Those not interested don't have to participate.

Of course. And I would argue that his projections are certainly much more likely to be close to accurate than my own (or anyone else here) as he is generally regarded to be an expert on the women's side.

We have over a week before the bracket announcement so it's something to think about while the Lady Vols aren't playing (particularly with their early exit from the SEC tournament). And sure, the match-ups presented by Charlie aren't likely to be spot-on, but they do help to give a sense of who's hovering around which seed lines so you have an idea of potential games ahead -- and hope for the match-ups that might be most favorable for the Lady Vols.

I'm hoping for an 8/9 seed with uconn so the remaining Holly supporters can see just how fall the Lady Vols have fallen under Holly.

When you look back at last years tourney the LV had the perfect seeding and match ups to get to the E8 all they had to do was muster up some effort and just enough offense. That's the thing about the tourney in those early rounds the match ups can swing heavily in your favor no matter the seed if you have more experienced talent... even if it is limited.

It's true. Arizona State is known for its aggressive man defense, about the only thing the LV offense could actually handle last year; followed by Ohio State, which is not exactly known for defense of any kind. The toughest matchup was actually the opener against UWGB -- not because of talent or athleticism, but because the LVs couldn't figure out how to score against a zone.

Hard to imagine we'll be as lucky with seeding again this year, but who knows.

Maybe not. With Texas's loss, Stanford might break into the #2 line. Since they can't host, that means the #7 seed would host... which could mean Tennessee could host the first two rounds if they are matched up together... which would be a travesty for Stanford.

A really good point, though Oregon State is absolutely destroying them in the early-going (16-3 about 6 minutes in).

This Pac12 championship is hard to watch. How can a 2 seed OSU only manage 38pts with 4 mins left in the game?

OSU is known for their stingy defense. They have never been known as a high scoring team. That same defense while only averaging 67 PPG got them to the FF last year. Defense can still win you a lot of games... if you do it right. This year they only avg 66 PPG. Granted they do not have a bunch of AA's either to light it up. Neither team made it to 60 points in the SEC final either.

Since Stanford cannot host(conflict with venue), it will be interesting what team will get the home seeding. The ESPN bracket has Missouri getting the home nod.

Also, West Virginia got bumped up for the win, but are now projected as a number 8 in UCONN's bracket. Thanks a lot!!!!

Kind of fun to look at, but we all know the places folks play will probably be much different from ESPN projections.
