calling the Jimmy Kimmel show comedy is a huge stretch.Wait, Kimmel has to make a donation to TPUSA to get his show back? He didn't even make fun of CK. This is crazy. They just wanna end the show. He should sue Disney and go podcast or retire or whatever
The joke was about Trump, not CK.
Remember when we were told they would legalize comedy?
Not supported by the timeline.Provide a link to where ANYONE from ABC or Disney says that Jimmy was fired because of his show's ratings.
You can't because it never happened.
What did happen was the FCC stomped on ABC's affiliates and threatened horrible consequences if ABC didn't punish Jimmy.
This type of motive was posted by others a couple days ago. Speculation then. I skimmed your link. Kimmel punishment and the merger was not connected. There it is. Nextar needs FCC approval for the merger. Nextar is a huge ABC partner

Were they not already in discussion with the FCC and Carr about the merger before all this happened? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out if they didn’t suspend Kimmel, it wouldn’t exactly curry favor with the FCC.Sinclair made their decision prior to Carr making his comments, how does that jive with your theory?
Yep. Glad that one had the courage to step up.I voted for Trump each time, and if I had to go back and vote again, I would still vote for him each time and wouldn't think twice about it. I definitely disagree with him here. As long as the government isn't subsidizing these networks then they can do what they want. They can make or lose as much money as they want, employ who they want. The market will decide, and the market decided on Kimmel long ago. Happy?
Your link. It is dated Aug 21. 3 weeks before the recent hullabaloo.
I do not think that the FCC should have gotten involved. I do, however, believe that it is within ABC's rights to terminate Jimmy Kimmel's employment with them if they want to. The government should not be in the business of making companies hire and fire individuals.Provide a link to where ANYONE from ABC or Disney says that Jimmy was fired because of his show's ratings.

What does "there it is" mean? Your initial post.It says they are not connected?
I see now you are saying the article doesn't make the claim that they are connected. Very astute of you to glom onto that fact, but I have one question...how could it connect the two things without a time machine?
They announced a merger. It's not complete. It's not approved by the FCC yet.
Yes? And? Do you have any supporting documentation that the FCC have made JK demands with the merger decision dependent? It says they are not connected?

I may have missed it, but has the FCC been shown to have made a demand per JK?I do not think that the FCC should have gotten involved. This is a similar sentiment I had with the mandating of COVID shots. The government shouldn't have mandated them either.
