I haven't seen any causal connection given for the FCC making the affiliates pull the show. Can you help a brother out and post some?

You also have not provided a link from the ABC affiliates that says JK suspended/ fired by threat of horrible consequences by FCC.

Were they not already in discussion with the FCC and Carr about the merger before all this happened? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out if they didn’t suspend Kimmel, it wouldn’t exactly curry favor with the FCC.

I see now you are saying the article doesn't make the claim that they are connected. Very astute of you to glom onto that fact, but I have one question...how could it connect the two things without a time machine?

They announced a merger. It's not complete. It's not approved by the FCC yet.

I do not think that the FCC should have gotten involved. I do, however, believe that it is within ABC's rights to terminate Jimmy Kimmel's employment with them if they want to. The government should not be in the business of making companies hire and fire individuals.

This is a similar sentiment I had with the mandating of COVID shots. The government shouldn't have mandated them either.

The article also states djt is for deregulation, carr is for deregulation, and the co has been consoliding for 2 decades.

And the FCC, by definition, exists to get involved in broadcasting over public(ly owned) airwaves.
